Fossil aka Sensible Male & Lesbians R Us make really nice and ridiculously frustrating wallets, only a handful of which have zip pockets for change.

Hey now. Straight ladies like Fossil too. Mostly because their purses aren't ugly as shit and I like a lot of the fabrics and colors they use.

So I went to Japan and spent a shit load of money on new clothes and new shoes. I ended up with four dresses (of the typical Harajuku variety), two shirts (to go under the dresses), two petticoats (also for the dresses), an awesome jacket, two pairs of shoes, six skirts and a dressy cardigan thing.

I will post more photos later but for now, here are the shoes:

And here are two of the dresses. The first photo is straight from the bodyline.co.jp website. The second I look super awkward in and I don't think the photo is really good enough to show how AWESOME I feel in that dress. But you get the idea (I also bought the same dress in the cream colour, but I can't seem to find either on the website). I definitely think it will make a big difference if I have heels on with these dresses too, rather than flats.

Those are some pretty awesome boots.

With man pants to girl pants conversions, remember that man pants sizes generally correspond to waist size, at least sort of. So if you wear a size 36 you have a 36 inch waist (or wherever your pants sit). Girl pants are arbitrarily sized, really.. so look for a website that sells the jeggings you want, and find their size chart. Compare man pants size to waist size. It might not be perfect but that at least gets you close. Then give a gift receipt?

I admit that I may be biased.  But ankle boots like that on men have always said one of two things to me:

(1) I am a hopeless gaming nerd who has suddenly discovered "fashion" and will wear these daily with my cargo pants and decades-old t-shirts--oh look, I'm wearing a bowler hat--don't I look suave in this ill-fitting blazer.

(2) I am a sleazy car salesman from Miami.

I say this with love: I have dated many people from the first category and my uncle was for a while a Miami realtor.  I just think it's a poor fashion decision.

Man pants are pretty arbitrarily sized, too. I've had some 33 inch inseam pants that ended up a good way up my calf after washing them, another pair of 33 inch inseam pants that fit perfectly, 36 inch inseam pants that aren't nearly long enough to really be 36 inches, and that's before you get into waist sizes. I've got 33" waist pants that have maybe three inches of extra space, 32" waist pants that barely fit until I wear them for an hour or so, and 33" waist pants that fit perfectly. And that's not even getting into the fashion pants that have vanity sizing or the pants designed to ride lower than hips, since I don't wear those.

If you can find some sort of size chart for a particular kind of pants you know he wears, that might help. There are charts out there that give you the actual waist size to the stated waist size, actual length, thigh size, seat size, leg opening size, I just haven't found them.

there's no way that's correct unless you went to a special store for tiny women, my pants are all anywhere from size 2 to size 4 and judging from photos i am pretty sure you are skinnier than me.
the best thing i can gauge from these inconsistencies is to really try to get exact measurements if you can, number sizes are probably not so reliable.

yeah i do not think 6 = 28in, that seems very off. usually, 0s start at around 24 to 25...

Anyway I bought too many clothes this weekend. Including jeggings. Fuck you guys

But I just want to show you the shoes i bought because they are so beautiful to me and all i ever post in this thread is shoes that i bought.

the white part is leather!

aaaaaaaaaaa that color. the only thing with these shoes is that they got a nice fatty tongue since they're skate shoes, so they will be both very padded and comfy, but also just remind me that i need to start skating again and then make me sad.

Or they tell her to stop shopping at Wal-Mart.

I seriously can't buy much of anything at wal-mart. The few clothes they have that I would want to wear they don't have in my sizes. Normally I'm an M verging on L, but at Wal-Mart I'm a small, and that is barely small enough. Wal-mart is also the place where I bought those pants that said they were 32/34 but were more like 34/30 after washing.

They have some decent clothes. Just a lot of bad ones too. And all of the decent ones still don't come in my size.

I was mostly just looking for a plain button-down for when I needed something a bit nicer than a t-shirt, but not fancy.

I shop at Wal-Mart sometimes. Though their plus size section is terrible. All elastic-waist pants and "capris" that are more like high-waters and it's awful. They did carry some decent jeans for a while, and otherwise I can usually find a couple diamonds in the shit.

I'd like to know who told fat people they could wear tapered pants. Who told anybody, really, but especially fat people. I am attracted to larger people in general and not one would ever look good in tapered pants. Also, elastic waists? What are you trying to do to us?! I'm trying to hide my belly not highlight it for all to see.

Yeah, the only things I ever bought from wal-mart were thermal shirts at 9$ also. I am an M sometimes going on S, but man, their "S" shirts are really still pretty large.

In other news, I bought some skinny jeans. Another pair of Levi's 510s (the Super Skinny ones). They are pretty great. I also have ried those American Apparel skinnies, and they are incredibly comfy as well. Will probably wait until they go on sale or something. I will not pay 75$ for jeans, unless they are jeans I will wear forever.

pretty much all of my jeans have been in the $100+ range. i guess it seems hypocritical seeing as i complain about money woes so much but as a person with pretty curvy proportions, i can't actually wear most generic brand jeans because they just don't fit my body type at all - even katie's advice of taking in the waist doesn't seem to work because my butt-to-waist ratio is just too silly and they usually can't accommodate my big calves anyway. the only jeans i have ever owned that have lasted more than a year have been silver brand (specifically, this fit, in black). i bought a pair last year and they're still going strong while pretty much every single other pair seem to to wear out and fade and stretch out and fill with holes and tears within a year. i guess my power butt is just too much for them to handle.

since i managed to nab a pretty well paying teaching assistant position next year, i might actually buy some new jeans! which is good because the aforementioned silver jeans are literally the only pair i have left that are actually in some sort of decent condition. shopping spree, shopping spree

You know how I mentioned I was looking for a button-down? I found one.

this thing in Deep Mahogany, although it looks lighter than that in person. The small fit my torso and my arms, which is nice. I got it on clearance after having looked in other stores without being able to find anything in my size. It says it's canvas, but it doesn't feel like it. It's a lot thinner than I think of canvas as being.

pretty much all of my jeans have been in the $100+ range. i guess it seems hypocritical seeing as i complain about money woes so much but as a person with pretty curvy proportions, i can't actually wear most generic brand jeans because they just don't fit my body type at all - even katie's advice of taking in the waist doesn't seem to work because my butt-to-waist ratio is just too silly and they usually can't accommodate my big calves anyway. the only jeans i have ever owned that have lasted more than a year have been silver brand (specifically, this fit, in black). i bought a pair last year and they're still going strong while pretty much every single other pair seem to to wear out and fade and stretch out and fill with holes and tears within a year. i guess my power butt is just too much for them to handle.

since i managed to nab a pretty well paying teaching assistant position next year, i might actually buy some new jeans! which is good because the aforementioned silver jeans are literally the only pair i have left that are actually in some sort of decent condition. shopping spree, shopping spree

Do those $100 jeans have real pockets?

alright ponies, i know we've had this discussion before BUT it turns out the twitching of my eyes is caused by the fact that my new glasses have slightly the wrong prescription, causing eye strain (and $ to fix). my old glasses never had this problem and the prescription wasn't different almost at all, so i'm left with the dilemma of either

A) getting the new glasses fixed
B) switching back to my old glasses and keeping the new as a spare, and getting them fixed when i can afford it better
C) returning the new glasses and never buying anything new ever again

the monetary factor is small so this is basically a cosmetic decision, which glasses look better on me? i cannot decide

help me sex furnace, you're my only hope.
