Become so busy that you never have time to wash clothes and just have to put on whatever is closest and clean.
It is working for me.

I find it pretty easy? I do care about what I choose to put on my body because I very clearly have a deliberate style that I'm going for. It's just that this style doesn't require me to buy particularly expensive clothes and I don't care enough about clothes to need to buy more outside of when things are no longer wearable (I have two pairs of identical black fatigue pants, one pair of grey jeans for "special occasions" and a pair of suit trousers) but I basically wear the same thing every day. In fact I can say with utmost certainty that most days I will leave the house in a pair of black fatigue pants, a black t-shirt, either a band/comic/video game shirt or just a plain black one (long or short sleeved depending on the weather), a black leather jacket or hoodie and either my cons (used to be these, now these or a pair of my demonias (either these or these depending on how much time I have to put them on).

I do care about what I wear but I don't care about, for instance, looking fashionable or not. What I'm wearing may or may not (probably not) be in or out of style at the time but that's not really what concerns me as I'm going for an aesthetic that is not neccessarily caught up in a mainstream trend (though to be fair, goth-lite scene is pretty mainstream) but that is a different post for a different day.

I bought two dresses for my 21st! It's only fair since I'm having two parties. They were $50 each.

Just posting these because I was talking to meebo about dress buying.

Yeah, some ladies really are that curvacious.

I don't want to start something off again when it's done with, but I'm that shape. I have photos of me looking that shape (Sort of) & they are for a pin up style site that doesn't allow photoshopping or airbrushing.

(Both the dresses above are aces.)

huge fan of the first dress. Not a fan of what the second dress does around the boob area. The piping/boob outline just draws attention to what isn't really there

I'm thinking of getting long satin gloves for the 1st dress since it's for my 1950s themed party. Not sure if I can find them in less than a week. Also, not sure what colour, since i'm wearing black accessories but black gloves might be a bit too much?

I'd have to see it to be sure, but I'm imagining long black satin gloves with that first dress, and am not sure how well they would work together. I think it's the pattern that makes me feel this way.

hey fashion thread! i bought things today and i need you to tell me how good/bad a job i did.
sorry the photos are so grainy, i took these with my crappy webcam and i couldn't seem to get any of the details in the clothing to show up at all unless i had my desk lamp shining directly into my face and eyes as bright as possible.

this belt for 50% off! now i finally have something to wear with my black jeans.

these sweatervests! what do you people generally think of sweatervests? do people still even wear sweatervests? were they ever actually cool or have they always been just an ironic hipster thing? i didn't really intend to buy two or even one today but they were marked down from $40 each to $10 and i couldn't resist, plus i actually sincerely do like sweatervests a lot and i think i pull off the 12-year-old-boy-who-is-actually-a-22-year-old-woman look pretty okay.

I vote yes to all three, but agree that the second one is better than the first. But I'm a fan of sweatervests, and like both.

I don't think I've said so before, but I think it pretty much every time I see photos of you – you're able to pull of the style I wish I had the body to pull off, which I've always envied. So, uhm, yeah. I'm trying to get better at complimenting people instead of just thinking stuff.

the first sweatervest is really not as bad as the photo makes out, i like the purple one more too but it's mainly the lighting and really poor image quality that make it look like such a shapeless grey blob. in person the greys are a lot darker and it's a lot more flattering. maybe in the future some photos of me wearing it will emerge that will prove it, my terrible webcam is of absolutely no help in arguing this matter sadly.

also thanks fashion advice thread, i am glad to hear my ability to dress myself is improving slowly but surely. maybe the next step will be buying an actual skirt or dress or something.

polishing shoes is easy. Apply polish all over the uppers with applicator of choice (either a small brush or a foam apllicator). Brush the shoes all over with a large shoeshine brush. Then bufff with a cloth. There are probably many places on the net for advice.  The basics are here.
