Pinstripes are fine on an expensive enough suit (it seems a lot of cheap, shitty suits come pinstriped to make them appear less cheap and shitty) but fuck the pleats on those pants.

I booked my flights to America using a Visa debit card; I couldn't have used an Electron card though.

Ryanair charge a fee for the use of any credit or debit card other  than the Electron - which is pretty sick, as I understand that Electron cards are going to be removed from the market (here, at least?) in the fairly near future.

I heard about that; I think the reason they chose the Electron is because so few people use it, since it's widely refused. But I could shop online with it, use it in shops, withdraw money - for some reason I wasn't allowed to go into the branch and get money out with it, though.

a "proven ability to pay", whateverthefuck that means.

It means they do an employment check on you just like if you were trying to get a loan. The parameters might be different (home loans require 2 years of work in the same field/going to school for the same major), but it basically means they aren't gonna give you a card if you haven't had a job for a while.

Fashion thread,
my pants don't exactly match my coat in the type of black, the pants have a bit more sheen than the coat (thought I had brought my other pair of slacks with me), can I compensate for this by wearing a black tie with a sheen that matches the pants? or should I go with a little bit more color like a blue or red tie (probably deep colors)? I would post pictures, but come in, its just a black suit with a light cream shirt underneath. you can imagine that.

Just so we're all on the same page, Brioni suits are made out of unobtainium.  Each of those suits pictured would retail for over $5k.  Carry on.

Internet, this dress.

I've got it to wear in the summer, maybe as a beach cover up. But I'm not sure if I should wear a necklace with it, and I think the best kind of sandals would be those roman sorts but will that look too costumey also if I get a nude colour bra will that be sufficient or should I look for a slip? I have never worn a white dress.

Andy that looks like a lovely beach cover-up. I reccommend either a few thick gold bangles or pin your hair back a bit and wear striking earrings. Roman sandals would definitely complete the look.

A slip will be good if you want to wear it as a formal outfit. A singlet or with shorts might be fine for every day.

Ripped from the blog thread:

Ive also decided to regrow my moustache complete with soulpatch, get prescription Ray Bans and invest in some minimal v-necks and tight pants suspenders and some button up shirts and basically rip off a combination of Joey Jeremiah and Johnny Depp for my look. Throw in some Mr. Schue for work attire. And basically dress with style.

As is, Im fashionable but boring, I want to stylish and be 'hot'. My b-day is in under a month and am going to try to get the glasses by then, my facial hair will be in as well. Once that starts up Ill take some before/after pics.

Generally, the average guy looks best when he's comfortable, shows good fashion decision making, but casual about it.

I'm not saying there aren't some guys who look amazing super-stylish. I'm just suggesting that I like it when a guy doesn't care too much, or cares more than me.

This. Long sleeves have to be past my wrists for me to not push up, but I'll still do it anyways. Anything that does not go below my wrist always stays pushed up. Always.

The groomsmen suits are OK specifically as a groomsmen suit, but I can't see you getting away with wearing it anywhere else, whereas Jordan's actual suit is just good all-round (although I guess if you wanted to wear it as a non-wedding suit you'd have to change out the tie/maybe waistcoat anyway, and it seems that was the only difference between the groomsuit and the groomsmansuit anyway) (also it's a shawl collar/silk covered buttons/silk jetted pockets which pretty much means you can't dress it down below black tie anyway so um I guess I just made my point null).

(ok so I guess I remembered the first suit Jordan posted as being significantly different. nevermind)

I am sorry for that ridiculous, ridiculous post, fashion thread.

To make up for it here is evidence of my poor impulse control:

The foul temptation of a 20% off voucher has led me to spend $160 (after discount) on these two ties:

To be fair I was going to buy them sooner or later anyway and also they are amazing beautiful handmade ties from Mountain & Sackett but still I should really not be spending $160 on anything I don't absolutely need right now. siigghhh
