Dovey help with my boot conundrum (posted above) do I go for the cheap ones I am not sure I like but maybe will grow to love, or spend twice as much and maybe not be happy with myself for doing so?
I mean I am trying to 'classic' up my wardrobe with Key Pieces as they call it and wearing only dark blue or black jeans and grey cons, brown thongs or red flats, and neutral t-shirts and cardigans with no jewellery, so maybe going the more expensive nice ones would be better.
Ally you probably already know my stance on these things in general: "buy the best, cry once"
Good quality leather products, boots in particular, are fantastic because they will last you a long time indeed and even if they do start to fall apart on you they can easily be fixed by a cobbler for far less than the cost of any new pair of shoes, good or bad. And honestly I don't see leather boots going out of style anytime soon so it is a pretty safe bet that you will see some serious use out of them.
I know that it is hard to get over the cringe factor of handing over a shitload of money for something that you do not necessarily need and I can certainly sympathise but with certain things it is definitely worth going for it, because as previously mentioned, leather boots are just one of those things that will be a staple in yr wardrobe for pretty much forever. The way you used the words "Key Pieces" makes me suspect you get this already.
And of course there is nothing wrong with going without for a while putting off a purchase that will ultimately reap fruit in the long term. So if you really feel you can't justify the boots that you want right now, hang back until you can. Winter is still a fair way off!
That being said: What with the fact that these two pairs of boots are from the same place and also I am just looking at pictures of them on the Internet, it is hard to judge on the actual quality of them beyond more expensive=better, which I am not stupid enough to take as an inviolable rule. That is probably another reason to hang back on throwing money down for a while, so you can do yr research.
