So I know this guy Jacob who I've decided has my favorite Black Flag ripoff shirt ever.
[picture]

yessssss. that reminds me brittany, i confessed to my feminism class that my roots are in punk rock and this dumb chick was like "yah, me too, like if you're not protesting i dont think you're doing anything" and i was like ugghhh i have no affiliation with this chick and smiled politely.

The worst parts about group discussion are often the insufferable remarks made by those who agree with you.

a lot of the times in a feminism class too, you'll have people make totally boneheaded remarks but you know they're well-meaning but you still kind of want to punch them? i suppose it's like that with anything, but i think the well-meaning boneheaded remark thing, at least from what i've seen, seems to be worse every time feminist theory or any sub-theory gets brought up.

Yeah it holds true with pretty much any complex issue, but I'd easily put feminism in the top 5 "Most Likely To Have Boneheaded Remarks Made About" category.

I'm pretty sure that every feminism class has one of "those people". Which is why I never took one, because I am the, "Seriously?" person.

But fashions! Brittany, that shirt is awesome! Give him high fives from the internet.

My biology class once had a group discussion about whether the class members thought being gay was genetic or conditioned. It turned into people talking about how they just couldn't understand it, because I was apparently the only queer, much less person for whom gay people are a normal occurrence, in the entire class. I never said anything, just looked around in a sort of stupefied horror.

That was in West Virginia. I think that was during the semester immediately preceding my withdrawal and return to Atlanta. I left for lots of reasons.

Being gay was genetic or conditioned.

Its been years since I was in a psychology of sexuality class, so forgive me if my info is outdated or just flat out wrong, but isn't this one of those unanswered questions that scientists are still trying to figure out? The last I remember reading about it, it was accepted that homosexuality is part genetic and part environmental, just like aspects of personality.

Hey Katie, at least you didn't have to sit across a table, blocked from escaping by your boyfriend, while his best friend sat across from you and told you that being gay is a disease. Yep. It would have been impolite to reach across the table and strangle him.

Well, I'm pretty sure homosexuality was listed in the DSM-III which was only updated in like 1993 or 1995 (I forget which one). On the other hand there is research saying that homosexual men have the same sized amygdala as heterosexual women so that there could be an argument for the genetic basis of homosexuality (or an equally strong argument for cognition shaping neurobiology, whatever). The point is, Emaline's boyfriend has shitty friends and fashion is rad or something.

The other sweater I have is black and dark grey, striped. Also, for the record, I wouldn't dream of wearing the button-down shirt that I'm wearing in this photo, though. I'm thinking this sweater and a dark blue and grey button-down underneath. Thoughts/suggestions on colors?

Aww thanks you guys. You've got to remember that by the time most of the photos were taken I was the only one who hadn't consumed my own weight in wine; some of the girls on the team are absolutely gorgeous. More importantly they're my team and I love them all to pieces, I don't think I'd have made it through this year without them all :)

OK soppiness over, on with the fashion please!

Fashion Advice Thread I have been thinking so hard. I have been thinking about Those Boots. I am going to get the more expensive ones. But I was lusting over them in the shop yesterday and realised that I love the chocolate brown version better than the black.
I know black is more practical. But the brown is just so lovely.
But I already have a pair of awesome tall brown heeled boots with wacky 80's metallic zig zag leather detail, so maybe I do not need another pair of brown boots? But they are totally different styles! Oh, I don't know.

Yeah it's actually not bad hair although I still think you look a little too Naziskin for comfort

Anyway, wear the sweater from the pic, blue or mostly-blue shirt, if it's patterned try to keep it subdued as possible.

Thanks! Yeah, the only button-down shirts I have are patterned, but I've got a navy+sky blue+grey+dark grey plaid one that would probably suit my needs perfectly. I'll model this tomorrow afternoon, but I'm really excited.

I've decided on my more faded pair of skinnies. They've since gone through their first-ever machine wash (I've been handwashing them from day 1 so I could get proper natural wear lines in without removing too much indigo dye), and they are GORGEOUS. They've shrunk a little bit, too, so I'ma be rocking some ultra-hipster digs up on that stage. Tempted to wear my ridiculous oversized red aviators, too. They may or may not look retarded with hair this short.

Patrick, you should stretch your earlobes!

I've actually considered piercing them and possibly doing just that once I have a little bit more disposable income. Interesting suggestion to make, though. Anybody else got thoughts on this idea?
