The little black dress is a good style for pretty much every lady, you just got to get one that flatters your body type.  Obviously getting one that is too spacious in the chest area causes probs, but at least the length of that one looks good.  Not too short, but not super long either.

BrittanyMarie:
I dunno, the point of a lbd is to work for every occasion. That one is a little too much like a slip or a nightgown. If it was either in a different fabric or had wider straps and more structure to it I'd like it a lot more.

redglasscurls:
Yeah, I'm not sure that the loose cotton is really what you need to be looking for there. Maybe a different neckline? I feel like very pointy V necklines can make boobs look weird and pointy sometimes. The length is really good though, it hits your leg at a flattering spot:)

I have the worst pictures of my awesome new summer dress! It somehow manages to be loose and relaxed up top and tight and huggy on the bottom at the same time without any seaming at all :)
The only slight downside is that it is a halter top.

(Please ignore panty lines. I am not taking off my underwear in a dressing room.)

St.Germain:
The straps on the dress I was wearing there are fairly wide. Wider than the straps on most things I wear.

I really do want a LBD, but I'm not really up on the whole dress fashion thing. What kind of neckline would be better? Bear in mind I have relatively little in the way of a chest, and I'd like to keep it that way, so I need something that looks good on what I've got without making them look bigger.

BrittanyMarie, what do you mean by structure? I really have no idea what I'm doing here, so any input you guys can offer is awesome.

If anyone has pictures of things that would be helpful, I'd give distant internet hugs in return.

My first thought too.  For me it was the frilly edges that gave that impression; I would try for something with a simpler look to it - there should be nothing about the lbd that distracts, however slightly, from you.
