I am in desperate need of some sharp formal wear especially thanks to recent developments.

You're writing that but all I'm reading is "Oh shit my girlfriend's pregnant".

Kieffer have you done up the bottom button on all of those suits

To be fair, it's okay to only do up the bottom button of a double breasted suit sometimes, as it makes you look taller/minimizes width but it often looks a little silly, unless you've got a well made bespoke suit. I'd go with the classic top two combination.

Also, all double breasted jackets have peaked lapels.

The double breasted suit only has the bottom button. There is no other buttoning option.

As for the others, I was trying them on to make sure they fit? I wanted to see where they were tightest because I was going to take them to be tailored?

I really have no excuse I don't know that much about suits guys.

So guys, on Sunday I am going on a shopping trip in Charleston with Christmas money. I will be going to Charleston mostly for the Urban Outfitters there. Everything will be half off! Whoo!
Recommend me clothes to get!

Do you realize why this post doesn't work at all? You have given us nothing to go on. You're shopping at Urban Outfitters for shit that's 50% off. That doesn't tell us nearly enough to help you even a little bit with what to tell you to buy.

I suggest giving us some details about the kinds of things your looking for, the holes in your wardrobe you need to fill, the style you're going for, the patterns you like, and hey! maybe even some links to the UO website of items you're already a little interested in so we can make it easier for you!
I suppose your suggestion does make sense. I was thinking, you post things that you like and I will look at them and see whether or not I like them because you might like things that I don't know that I like.
but hey! I currently have essentially no wardrobe at all other than 4 pairs of pants and a bunch of colored t-shirts. I'm looking to start dressing a bit more dressier. Kind of a formal/casual look. Think Will Schuester from Glee: http://images.google.com/images?q=will+schuester
I already know I will be buying at least a few plain colored dress shirts and definitely some slim fit trousers. Perhaps a vest? Maybe a blazer?

Those are all good things to be buying, but also not really things that Urban is carrying right now? You would have had better luck with that stuff at Urban like, 6 months to 2 years ago. They are rocking the "western/american 70's look" that is trendy pretty hard right now.

From a quick glance at their catalog, I'd say that of urban brands, BDG is gonna have the best stuff for you maybe, specifically this shirt and this one?

Don't be afraid to get patterns in your pants and your shirts, I guess get some ties, try not to overdo it or you'll end up looking really gay, although I guess if a guy from Glee is your inspiration that probably isn't a huge concern.

Guy from Glee isn't the inspiration but more of an example.
Those two shirts were ones that I was already considering buying. Now, though, we have a problem. Mom is being a bitch and not letting me go "all the way to Charleston" so nevermind ignore that post.

Speaking of neat jackets:

My Christmas present from Mom and the scarf my sister made me shown in one great blurry cell phone picture!

Please be aware that below the mirror, I am wearing boxers.

The scarf makes it look much more feminine - it could be okay without the scarf. Also, the mirror effect making it look like it buttons up on the wrong side probably doesn't help.

I think it's just the scarf guys. If that was a white shirt+black tie where the scarf is it'd look sharp as hell.

Still faggy. It just buttons to highly at the top and securely at the bottom, both are the mark of a feminine jacket.

Everything said there.

Anyway this is a fashion advice there. Advice: Its a nice jacket in spite of what has been said. As long as you were it, it will look better dressed up than dressed down. Wear the scarf, dont wear a hoody under it etc.

So I know we've covered skinny jeans in general: they're OK sometimes, on some people.  Up to this point, I've been pretty sure that I wasn't one of those people--that I have too much proverbial "junk" in my proverbial "trunk" to pull off the peg leg.  Today, however, I tried on this pair in a store and thought it was flattering enough to purchase.

Once having left the store, as that heady shopping-trip-with-Mom excitement began to fade, I started to doubt myself and my purchase.  Given that my mother is almost perpetually stoned and dresses like a thirteen-year-old, I have decided that I need a more impartial arbiter.  So, QC: can I flaunt these, and if so with what kind of top/accessories?  Or should they go straight into my Goodwill bag?

PECKER WRECKER

We have four dogs at the house: Maggie, Woody, Petey, and Buster. A girl came over and was yelling at two of them to come back when they ran away: "Woody! Buster! WOODY! BUSTER! WOODY! BUSTER!" I responded, "I don't know what a woodybuster is, but it sounds painful."
