I still don't get how twat is sexist when you can be called a dick, knob or any other variation on men's genitalia and it's not even offensive anymore, really. And twat is also one of the best words to say! Twat twat twat hee hee.

Dear Blog Thread,

There have been a few posts here and there about how sometimes people see dopplegangers of forum people around and about. It seems that my special ability is seeing older versions of forumites. I've seen old Hannah and old Jon and now today I saw old May. So I guess if you want to know how you will age, hang out with me for a while?

Also hang out with me for sexy funtimes.

Yeah prolly it is.

From what I can recall it's mostly the complaint that being referred to as female genitalia is insulting across genders whereas referring to a woman as a "dick" is really kind of nonsensical. "Twat" is essentially used in the same ways as "dick" or "cock", usually indicating an aggressive / rude / ignorant person. Other vaginal terms are usually meant  to indicate weakness. "Cunt" is generally considered a harsher word but it's got the same meaning, although it's usually aimed more at females than males. Beyond that being a dick or a twat is not really looked down upon as much as being a pussy is. It's almost taken on more descriptive than disparaging.

Dear BeoPuppy first of all I'd be more offended by a sexist insult if you were interesting at all. Second, obviously it wasn't neglect when I took the fucker into the vet to figure out what was wrong with him- there wasn't anything wrong with him until he escaped his cage and I thought he got into something poisonous. Turns out his pee is poison to him! According to the vet I did everything right, the only reason he even got sick is because of his great escape which strained him, which made him more sensitive to it.
[...]

Interesting enough to need a reaction, apparently.

And according to your own words you didn't clean its cage for a month. And that is neglect.

So, bloggy, lately I've not been paying as much attention as I should at school. Which is kinda bad, but I'm blaming it on being sick and not having energy to pay attention. Also, the school network won't let me play bloodbowl. Fuck you, school.

Influx of good news!  Mom's out of the hospital, breathing well (still on like thousands of pills, though), and generally up and moving around again.  Relief!  Also, a coffeehouse manager sent me an email regarding the application I sent in to him and I may be getting a job at a coffeehouse in an office building!  Deez nuts, awful circumstances!

Also, I do not understand people. At all. If you have something to say, say it.

Also also, I am tired of people dumping all their personal complaints on me. I am not an emotional landfill, I can only take so much. I think this is a huge part of why I have been so low on energy lately and I'm just so tired and I want it to stooooooop. I'm just so tired. :c

Manual transmission is the best.  For those who doubt, heel and toe downshifts are the best thing ever to do in a car, and those can't be accomplished in an automatic.

I just bought a ticket to see the Pixies on the 21st of March next year! There are very very very few acts that I'd be willing to shell out almost A$100 for without thinking twice, but the Pixies playing the entirety of Doolittle is one of them.

Oh shit oh shit I'm excited.

I don't really know what a heel and toe downshift is but basically it is the most fun ever when you get stuck behind someone going slow to downshift, switch lanes and NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR pass em on the inside

Stick it out.  You'll find some cool people, really.  You decided to go to this school, so it stands to reason that some people like you would decide the same thing.

Also, why not just cut the drinking and the drugs down?  It'll give you some time to sort some things out, and it'll probably cut through all the crap of other people.  Drama gets involved like crazy when booze and drugs show up.  There has been many a morning for me spent running through the previous night's events thinking the whole time, "Did I really say that?  Aw crap."

AllyBee -  Take a few weeks off from the drinkin' and other stuff.  Focus on your school work and finding something you really like doing.  Like when I was in college I got involved with the college TV station and I met a a lot of really cool people.  I think a lot of people eventually get to the point of frustration with "college life" sometimes.

Blog Thread,

Hey BT!  I can't believe you are still around!  Here is some blog scattershot about last week!

I have set up a sweet display for banned books week.  I am considering if anyone would want to see some really old horror films in the library's auditorium for Halloween.

There were some pretty neat fireworks for the Battle of Plattsburgh event last weekend.  I was sitting in a spot very close to where they were setting off the fireworks.  They were so bright they made my eyes water up.

I was invited to the event by a co-worker who wanted to see the fireworks but couldn't go because she didn't have anyone to go with her.  I always thought that she was a little too young to hang out with because I am 28 and she is like 21 but I found out she is going out with some 30 year old dude.

I got really sick on Monday and Tuesday so I laid in bed and read the first three Death Gate novels.  Fantasy fiction will always be my weakness.

I'm only on my work break so I will keep this short, but the tl;dr will be "I am alive, and how!"

So I arrived in Sitka on the 17th of July. The 18th of July, I saw an old friend of mine, Becca. We've both had the hots for each other since my first season here, but we've never been available at the same time. That hadn't changed, she was seeing a guy named Phil, who is also a decent pal of mine. On the 19th, we boned. They broke up three weeks and three 12-packs of rubbers later.

Let's see. I may wind up appearing in a Frommer's tour guidebook for Sitka. I went over to jam with my buddy Hank, who is relatively famous as Sitkans go, and the Frommer's photographer was there snapping away like nothing else. That same day Hank wound up asking me if I'd replace his guitarist for his Christmas gig. Last week he asked me if I'd play for a Rotary charity fundraiser. I'm pretty pleased.

Uhhhh what else? My stepbrother gets married on the 26th, I leave for California on the 24th. Unfortunately I won't have time to visit anybody (Sorry Yelleyjason and Chris!) but whatever, it'll be cool.

My mom wound up visiting town a few weeks ago. She met Becca, and then promptly went to the old closed-down Sheldon Jackson College campus and opened up some girl-salmon and got their eggs so that they could artificially spawn moar salmonz. My mom has no idea what "doing normal shit" is I guess.

Oh and I got my paycheck from February right after I got my last paycheck, so I just bought a new guitar. And by "new" I mean "30 years old". Yay!

Love,
ME WHOOOO!

P.S. I will have internet at home within the week.

 Dear Blaggysphere,

I saw Built to Spill twice in the last two days.  The concert tonight was free in a park, and the crowed was pretty bad.  The bar last night with them was excellent.  Anyway, like a good son I took my mother to the BTS concert tonight.  It's been like 25 years since the last rock concert shes been to.  Some girl lit a joint behind her and some drunk hippie slammed into her and I had to elbow him away, which on the whole was fairly amusing to me.  When did it become okay to mosh, crowd surf, stage dive, and storm the stage to dance on at an indie rock show?  That aside, it was epic and awesome.

Patrick! That is cool. What part of California?

So guys. I am back at college. New dorm bigger room. Still 100 miles away from the girl, which is not cool at all and she is having a pretty difficult time going through the separation for a second year. I'm hoping since this year she can come see me as well as me going down there we can make things easier. That is, if the new roommate who I've never met is chill with sleepovers.

Also, of more immediate interest, I work 6am-6pm shifts for the weekend. That's right, it's dorm move-in season, time for all the over-aggressive parents to yell at parking people for trying to impose order on chaos!

I still prefer to think of rugby in a more friendly way: Everyone tries to hug the guy with the ball. The team with the most hugs at the end of the game wins. Extra points for group hugs.

I'm sick of college. I'm sick of being drunk and/or high. I'm sick of boys and not knowing what they want from me. I'm sick of feeling like girls are only spending time with me because they don't have a choice.

I want to go home and be with my best friend who actually likes me

So my cousin was induced on the 17th in the morning and started having contractions almost right away, 2-3 minutes apart. She was supposed to have the baby that day. On the 18th at 10am they broke her water, and now it's 3am on the 19th and still the baby is all "f you guys, it is hell of comfy in here la la la".

Hurry up, baby, I would like to meet you!

Going home from work catching a late bus out to my parents house, and all of a sudden I heard this "look at THIS motherFUCKER here"

I turn around and lo and behold it is my old work mate and absolute bestie in terms of sheer drinking and shit talkin' who has to get on the same bus to get back to her house. We get on the bus and get to talking and decide eventually we should go back to her place and get shit faced and basically be rad dudes

wound up making ghetto margaritas, punching cones and smoking ciggies on the porch just talkin'. The phrase "just like old times" was thrown around like there was no tomorrow and eventually I wound up passed out on her couch halfway through a sentence running off my mouth about evolutionary psychology or something.

Great morning!

Now, taking surrealist plays and fucking with their chronology to make it even more surrealistic is fun. Real fun. We are going to make a play that's so fucking stereotypical drama class. Then we are going to drop the whole serious part.

Superhero costumes in Strindberg? Theatre is the best kind of aaaart!
