I had an awesome three days on a canal boat! No running water, no toilet, a tiny little cabin and two chimneys constantly belching soot. I have never been so tired in my entire life. We got stuck just outside a lock for three hours and I spent most of those hours trying to flush to boat through by winding the paddles up and down at least thirty times. It didn't work.

Also whilst on Canal Street in Manchester I managed to throw the winder thing (can't remember the name of it) into the water in front of a whole crowd of people who had come out of the gay bars to watch. It had to be fished out using a magnet on a string.

Now I'm having a dilemma: I have an assignment to do and my room to clean and a whole ton of stuff to sort out, but I also met a girl whilst in Manchester and I want to carry on searching for her on Facebook. What do I do, internets?

This girl might find someone else while you clean your room. The room won't find someone else when you look for this girl on face.

Go for the girl.

I don't even know her surname :( A friend said she had sent me a friend suggestion so that I could find her, but it has not come. And she may not even be gay. Probably is not! But she was really awesome and we got on incredibly well and what if I never see her again and she was my soulmate?

I am mostly joking, but not entirely. I feel like I should at least take the chance, because if I crash and burn I don't have to ever see her again.

Last night I was accosted by a drunk girl, yarr. She sat very close to me and asked to see my Zune, me mateys, and upon seeing that I was listening to YACHT and seeing the album cover, yarr, she produced a 20-minute monologue on what it meant and I had no idea what she was saying the entire time, shiver me timbers. She started off by complaining that the eye on the left is more serious than the one on the right, and that the eye on the left, as a person, has a deeper understanding of life, me mateys. She then started talking about "her kids", yarr, and after a few minutes it became apparent that she was an 8th grade art teacher who was trying to teach her class as though it was in second grade, yarr.

She then ambled off and as far as I can tell annoyed each other partygoer individually. Yarr.

Why do people think it's a good idea to put me in anything resembling a position of responsibility? I mean, seriously I've proven time and time again that I will put drinking in front of just about anything else. My poor tutoring student had to sit through an hour of "ummm, well in this reaction......(30 second pause), umm, what were we talking about again?" on friday I was so hung over from a night of Irish car bombs consumed to celebrate half-way to St. Patty's day.

Also, I'm spending today with drain-o and bathroom cleaner because apparently my bathroom sink is the most appropriate place to throw up when I'm drunk.

That dang baby finally decided to come out today after TWO inductions. In other news, football is on in the background and one player is named Calvin Johnson so every time the announcer says his name I am all "!!!!!!" then realize I'm watching football, not reading something on the internet about K Records.

So, I met a possible singer for one of my bands, and she was an extremely good singer.  The problem is that I'm not really sure that she's the type of person we're looking for.  She wants to be all gothic metal, and the band is trying to be all prog metal (but with actually good music).  She also wants to play all sorts of festivals in Europe, and I'm not sure that we are going to be able to do that sort of thing.  Basically, she wants to make a living playing rock music, and I don't want to have to worry about making a living playing music any more.  I'm meeting someone else tomorrow, but she's more prog rock, and nobody likes prog rock.

Guys, now that a bunch of people are in Scotland, when are we having a meet up?

Hey Bloggers Anonymous,

I'm back in the 'burgh, moved into my new flat, and am trying to get over my jet-lag. Half of my bed is broken, it's a bummer, although it now kind of acts like a semi-hammock.

I've been listening to a shit-load of David Bowie (probably because of Inglorious Bastards). Also, there's a lot of D&D in my life at the moment. I haven't been playing it, but my flat mate is a DM that organizes a weekly session with a bunch of my friends, and I kind of feel like it's going to take over my life. Tomorrow, if I wake up in time, I'm probably DJing in a variety of the student unions between 1pm and 1am. Should be kinda cool.

Also, I need a job, where do I start looking?

(I'm sorry you're single again Liz, but it doesn't seem like you're that upset, so I guess yay for being single?)

Not fat, a little chubby. No neck beard, a real beard. And good taste in music. Besides the boy and I weren't really together long enough for anything to count as a rebound. It was only a month.

I has a ladyfriend now!

You might remember her, she was also the last girl I dated. We spent all weekend together doing stuff like..y'know..camping in ridiculously plush RVs, clothes shopping, late night cuddles, and making dessert for my dad and his friends.

We're doing precisely the same thing again this weekend, only with way more drinking. I am such a happy boy right now.

I think it depends on the age group.  At a certain age, the skinny hipsters' metabolism slows down and they become fat hipsters (because hipsters tend not to understand the concept of "work," and therefore exercise).  Also, mustaches?  Terrible.

I agree that it's in part an age group thing, but I think it has less to do with metabolism and more to do with what kind of holier than thou form of transportation they use. The chub is inevitable once they can afford hybrids instead of riding around on their ugly fixies.

So now that I've finally arrived at college and gotten settled in, an event that happened over summer has come out and my girlfriend has found out that I almost cheated on her again. At the time I was relieved that I had the strength to stop the situation and walk away, which in the past was not the case. But... in my cowardice, I never told my girl what happened. So now it's come out, and she sees it as me letting a bad situation get too far before stopping, and lying to her when I swore I would never do that again.

So right now I'm packing. My only choice is to spend the last of my savings on a train ticket back to her, against my parent's wishes. askjasdljlfjashagklgj

I don't get why fixed gear bikes are cool.

Fixed gear bikes are cool because you don't have to shift gears. I never do. And if I wasn't so lazy (and if I'd ride my bike more than about once every two years) I'd have turned it into a fixed gear bike long ago.

That being said, I don't care about bicycles at all.

dear blog thread,

I don't know if I've said this before, but I'm thinking about quitting university and moving to another city (for real this time) to live there and just maybe get a job and such.
Of course I'd be doing this for love and other stupid reasons, but the thing is that I've come to realize that I'm not going to graduate anyway, so any reason to go away and live independently is good enoguh for me, right. Right?
