Watch "The Cove"... fucked up shit on whaling and killing dolphins in Japan
Indeed. Roll on the day when we react like this to the killing of all food animals, and not just ones that are excluded by our local food taboos, but eaten by weird foreigners.

You need to know Neon Genesis Evangelion to understand this one...

Anime goes to the moon

It's in Japanese (I just used Chrome to read it); but essentially, this is a crowdfunding project with the aim of including a miniature "Lance of Longinus" in a future moon exploration project.

One of my favorite authors wrote about the water systems on Starships in her universe.

They had three levels

Pure, or Drinking Water.
Recycled 'Grey Water' type.  Purified and Recycled enough to be reused for Showers and Cleaning, but not viable as Drinking Water
Black Water.  Still usable, mostly for those lubricating, as water for watering the plants in the ships CLESS system and/or 'Dirty Cleaning' but totally unsuitable for either personal hygiene or drinking.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/elanlee/exploding-kittens/

It made $5 million (U.S.) and has 126k backers in less than 2 weeks. It's a game about exploding kittens with art from The Oatmeal.... that's a lot of money for a game about exploding kittens.

Meh, I'm still angry that France are the new Handball World Champions. Like they actually know how to play the game.

Seriously.

It's really hard to believe their prowess by watching just 10 minutes of their games.

I'll be honest, that actually made me more angry than sad. There were quite a few sad/melancholy commercials this year. The Budweiser ones always get me a bit strangely enough.

I hadn't heard of the Hitchcock doc. That should be interesting... I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I think the best documentary I've seen so far -- short, but no less powerful for that -- was Resnais's "Night and Fog."

That's the one thing I can't agree with Storm there. Being the almighty goddess of thunder is useful at times. Killing the person you love when you touch them isn't.

Also, unpopular opinions: Jean Grey is extra-dumb.

Is that unpopular to think? Or is it just that Brett Ratner made me feel that way because of his dump of a movie?
