What should Gareth do in Amsterdam in August?
Welu:
I have no proper suggestions. Just take lots of photo to show when you get back!
BeoPuppy:
Rijks-, Van Gogh-, Stedelijk museum. Anne Frank obviously.
Rules considering drugs are stupidly simple: walk into a coffeeshop, order from a menu, light-up. Consider this, though: stay inside. Consuming outside is still an offense. Not that I know that anyone is policing this but I think it's a good rule. Also: be smart. Don't do all the drugs, all the time, all at once. There's been a surge of tourist's deaths because they just couldn't deal. Don't be like them.
ChaoSera:
As somebody living in the Netherlands you almost certainly know this better than me, but I seem to remember a rule implemented a while ago that coffee shops aren't allowed to sell pot to tourists anymore. I'm not sure though, maybe you have some more info on that, Beo?
BeoPuppy:
There was some discussion about instating a weedpassport. But that has gone away. Some cities on the border between the Netherlands and Belgium and Germany have rules that make it illegal to sell to foreigners. Amsterdam does not. Yearly there's some 1.5 million people that come specifically for the dope and that's a huge chunck of change. There's some talk about stricter rules but I believe it when I see it.
Thrillho:
1. Are you not allowed to take it back to your hotel with you, Puppy?
2. I am a relatively seasoned drug user and don't generally smoke more than one joint in an evening regardless, let alone when it's some regulated and so presumably reasonably strong shit.
