When did he get so hot?  Seriously, he was such a dork when he first showed up.  Now he's stupidly hot.  I like the change, and he may take over as my QC crush, a spot previously held by Dale.

Claire went through the same process. At least part of it is that Jeph has made a conscious decision to make the character look mainstream plausible as a romantic protagonist. However, in-universe, I suspect that it is the character's mindset. The realisation that they can look attractive and that people can find them desirable leads them to be more at ease with themselves and more careful with their appearance.

I thought it had actually been produced. CERN 2015, maybe others?

If you convert the numbers to a temperature scale, a quark-gluon plasma runs 4 or 5 trillion degrees Kelvin, three orders of magnitude hotter than a supernova.
