WCDT strips 4001-4005 (13th to 17th May 2019)

--- Quote from: Tova on 17 May 2019, 01:10 ---I'm with Castlerook here, I'm afraid. It's not repetitive in the only-seven-stories sense at all. Rather, there's a bunch of exposition telling us nothing new.

John Irving made a brilliant career out of writing about Bears, Vienna and Hotels.
cybersmurf:
One thing that makes that feel like old news: Although it has been years of our time, it might have just been a few weeks within the comic. That time difference makes it somewhat hard to judge progress, and might contribute to "treading on old ground". So much we've seen actually happened at the same time, rather than in sequence. And JJ may just be tieing up some loose/old ends.
How much time actually has passed in the storyline? Three years, maybe?

If there are only seven basic plots then they will keep coming round again. When you get old enough you get used to it!

I don't know the seven basic plots; I'm more familiar with the thirtysix dramatic situations.

I wonder if Faye knows she's traumatized Sven for life?
Moreover, do the mob of women wanting to bang Sven (I assume its still a thing) know, and are they gonna come after her?
"There's a mob of pissed off women outside Union Robotics. What did you DO Faye?" Bubbles asked.
"Why do you assume it's ME?"
*long look*
"Okay, it was probably me..."

Actually I was noticing May's fixation on boobs (first Marigold, now Faye) and starting to wonder if maybe she likes girls.
As far as I know, Bubbles is the only AI character whom we've ever seen entering any kind of romantic relationship. Although Pintsize has done ... things .... they never seem relationship-oriented. And although we've seen Momo crushing on Sven she never did anything to let him know about it, much less act on it.
Speaking of which, if May remembers when she met Sven before, she'll remember that Momo thought he was hot - and might very well tell him so. Which could turn out to result in embarrassment, amusement, recrimination, gratitude, outrage, hijinks, guilt, laughter, disappointment, or lasting happiness. Or, you know, some combination of the above. It's complicated.
