Men In Search Of The Perfect Weapon - s/t (I have a feeling this has silk-screened artwork. Mmm, nice)
Portraits of Past - Binary
Coalesce - There Is Nothing New Under The Sun (only £2.50!)

Just ordered that lot from Parade of Spectres. And thanks to this thread I've been reminded that I still have to pick up the Nile and Sleater-Kinney albums.

I just got back from getting The Woods. Double vinyl, green/brown coloured, gatefold... the geek in me needs a cold shower right about now. Musically it's good, seems like they've been listening to some riff-heavy stuff recently. Makes a nice move from the poppier 'One Beat', although I'm only on side two so far.

Edit: Side four is fucking silk-screened. It's the prettiest thing this side of that Crimson Curse single-sided 12" with all the flies on it. They seem to be on a mission to make every sad little geek on the planet happy, bless 'em.

I also got the Riisteterror 7" last night. Riistetyt and Sick Terror combine to form one massive thrash monster. I haven't played it, but I'm expecting speed witha touch of crust, and hopefully excellence.

How is that Wooden Wand... CD? I was thinking of picking up a copy from sncl. Oh, and where did you order the Demonic Yellow Swans from? I'm quite keen on them but I have no idea which distros carry them.

The Wooden wand CD-R is just OK, nothing special. They have some other stuff coming out later in the year such as a re-issue of their first proper LP Xiao and a new one Buck Dharma that are probably going to be better.
I bought the Demonic Yellow swans CD-R direct from  Hunglikeahorse!? tapes http://www.angelfire.com/droid/hunglikeahorse/ it's just some live jams from one of their tours and probably not the best starting place. I highly reccomend the Dreamed Yellow Swans CD on Pacrec http://iheartnoise.com as their best work to date.
I went looking round some UK based distros (since yr in Leeds) that carry this kind of stuff and found a good selection of yellow swans here http://www.volcanictongue.com/yellowswans.html

Thanks! The only D. Yellow Swans I've gotten hold of so far is mp4s of 'Bring The Neon War Home'. That's a pretty great distro actually, that Afrirampo CD is pretty tempting, and they have John Fahey and Gang Wizard too... hmm, I might have to do some saving and make a hefty order with these guys.

You like Gang Wizard too? Rawk! That distro has some things I would like but the exchange rate ($2 to one pound) plus intl shipping kills everything. Hey, if you've got MSN, AIM or Yahoo messenger just drop me a line on one of those. My names are listed in my profile.

I shall do, although I'll have to stay off it for a bit since I'm meant to be doing revision and ought to get back to it in a minute. Pesky stuff.

I haven't heard much Gang Wizard, just a few mp3s, which is why that CD is so tempting. I keep playing 'Someone Shit In The Pool Again / Running With Halo In Hand', I love the vocals on that. Vicious. I got told about them when I was asking for recommendations of heavy, whacked-out stuff on another forum. A guy pointed me in the direction of them, D Yellow Swans, Burmese and some other good stuff, and since the list he posted included Wolf Eyes and Bastard Noise I knew it would probably be quality.

I just realized... I'm getting into the really bad habit of buying a new CD like every two days... recently, it's been Iron And Wine (WOman King, as well as Endless Numbered Days), Metric, Hot Hot Heat, Futureheads, Coheed And Cambria, Thrice, Fiery Furnaces (Blueberry Boat, and the EP of their singles/B-sides), had to get a new copy of DFA1979 cause I lost mine, and Rancid (indestructible... ... not as good as some of their older stuff, alas)

I just purchased

Rheostatics--2067.

Er.....electronic, much?
To be honest, I've been listening to it for all of ten minutes, and for some strange reason I can't comprehend--it's mesmerizing. I loffffffffffffffffffffs me some Rheostatics.

=blushes= Okay, so it was an impulse purchase at the used music store. I say it's worth it just for the introduction in the insert. ^^

Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked

I shouldn't have, but it was £3 cheaper than most places in the CD shop in the union. Oh well..*headbangs til his neck snaps*

Of course you should have man.  It may not be their best album, but it's still better than 95% of the death metal out there right now.  "Cast Down the Heretic" motherfucker.

a pack of wolves mentioned Yacopsae.  I first heard of them in high school, I was reading a zine (Heartattack or Suburban Voice I think [maybe Punk Planet, but seeing as that zine sucks, probably not]).  Based on the description, I bought one of their CD's, and upon hearing it, nearly shit my pants.  What a fucking awesome band.

Really..  Good job!  Nocturnal Poisoning is one of the best BM albums ever.

Bloodline is the band with the guy from Satanic Warmaster, is it not?  (His name slips my mind right this second..)

Anyways, I've heard good things about them. . what are they like?  I love Satanic Warmaster.. Strength & Honour is great.

This album is great!  Fucking relentless...

As someone above mentioned, it's not their best album (my vote goes to Amongst The Catacombs of Nephren-Ka or In Their Darkened Shrines) but still worth the money.

I don't believe Bloodline has anyone from Satanic Warmaster, it has Nattefrost in it instead.  I haven't listened to it enough to form a real concrete opinion on it yet, but so far its pretty good.  As for the Xasthur, I got them at http://www.foreverunderground.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? but i got the last copies they had left.

I got Nocturnal Poisoning and The Funeral of Being from Redstream (www.redstream.org)

I also bought To Violate The Oblivious from Full Moon Productions (www.fmp666.com)

Of course, the prices weren't as low as $5.

I found Xasthur pretty easily on Soulseek.  You might want to try out DC++, another file sharing thing.  If you need help finding good hubs feel free to PM me.

Noyk:  As for Bloodline, you're right.  For some reason I thought Nazgul from Satanic Warmaster was in it. . I guess because of the Werewolf thing (He is in a band called The True Werwolf)
