I bought Stephen Malkmus's Face the Truth. It's pretty solid. I could almost say it's better than Piglib.

I went nuts:

Burmese - Men
Minus the Bear - Highly Refined Pirates
Cave In - Antenna
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
Sigur Ros - ()
Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land

Man. And I knew I've forgotten to order another CD. Or two. Well, next time.

Hmmm... so we have post-rock, ambient, hateful noise that's not really music anymore, emo and post-hardcore. Good mixture there. :p

Death From Above 1979 - Listening to it right now! It's the only "hard rock" thing I'm into. But it's so different, like dance rock? Yeah, I feel like dancing to this album :)

The Fiery Furnaces - Havent opened it up yet but I heard Quay Cur before and hopefully the album is as good or even better than that song!

The Album Leaf - Became an all-time favorite in one day! I love listening to it in the morning..*sigh* haha

Ooh... what do you think of it? As a DEP fan, I was really disappointed in this album but maybe I don't quite understand it.
But it has melody, for Christ's sake. I want DEP to make really pissed off, complex noise, I want the vocalist to scream his lungs out. This doesn't quite fit.

No man, it is not dance rock. Last I recall, it's fucking awesome electro-punk with chorus and fuzz. Besides, I don't know if it would be a good idea to mention dancerock around them. *cough james murphy cough*

Oh yes, that thing...

i was at a gig on monday and i bought:

City On Film - in formal introduction
Owen - i do percieve

city on film is robert nanna from braid and hey mercedes doing a solo kinda thing.
owen is mike kinsella from capn jazz, american football, and joan of arc doing a solo kinda thing.

both are excellent, city on film has totally dominated my computer and cd player this week.

I just went to some huge book/record/sheet music charity sale thing. Bought Jethro Tull's Aqualung, some live Rush record, and two Allman Brother's records. 6 bucks.

I just got "The Green Fields of Foreverland" by The Gentle Waves.

It is lovely and dreamy, but cannot compare to Belle and Sebastian in terms of anything really.

Finally picked up Give Up by The Postal Service, plus the Such Great Heights single for the covers.

Also, pre-ordered the new Facing New York s/t album. It's not really out until August 30th, but whatever. :)

Dredg - Catch Without Arms: Not Dredg's best album. Some songs kind of irk me, the lyrics are astonishing lame in parts (Not That Simple is just... ugh), and it just seems a little more uninspired overall. It's hard to live up to El Cielo, but this is almost sell-out territory. That being said, I still like the album, and hopefully, because of it's more mainstream feel, it will get them some more fans.

The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium: I had the MP3s of this album, but felt the need to actually own it. Awesome album. I can't really describe it, but your probably all familiar with it, whether you like it or not.

Ratatat - Ratatat: Sort of techno-guitar music. It sounds like Mega Man. It majorly rocks out though, video game music for my life. Rocking stuff.

Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse: The first time I took a listen to Sonic Youth (yeah, I'm not really into the indie scene all that much). It's a good album, though not really my thing. Pretty solid stuff, and I have a friend that I know will like it.

Bloc Party is decent but soulless.  They're good enough to listen to and not break a friend's CD, but not good enough to justify spending money on.

Weezer is...well...to each his own, I guess.

Same with Postal Service.  They're not shit, but they're not worth the money.

And Smile was a pretty low-quality album, if I remember correctly (given, I haven't listened to it in ages).
