The Last Show You Saw
Robbo:
Heratic, Brutal Death Metal band down at the biker pub I went to last night.
Brilliant stuff, crushing brutal play, riffs and blasting a plenty. All for head banging goodness. Bassist did loads of Jazz solos for his warm up stuff and in the last track, which was just an extended set of solos, he just did a set of intermixed Jazz Metal solos and Bass versions of guitar tapping solos. All while the guitarist did loads of melodic harmony stuff.
My next really hurts and so do my fingers. Twas great for a local band.

MC Chris! And he was about 9000 tons of awesome! Too bad I had to sit through two really shitty acts before him, but it was that great it doesn't really matter now.
EhSteve:
I saw The Shins in Asheville on Saturday. It rocked my ass off!
I mean, honestly, I don't think I've been rocked that hard in so long, I had a rock-gasm from all that sexy sexiness.
The Brunettes opened and were a totally awesome example of what happens when elementary school teachers get together to form a band!
bainidhe_dub:
last show i saw was VNV Nation at Alchemy, on new year's eve-eve.
my friends had an extra ticket& it was très cool, except that we had to leave about 15 minutes into the actual show to get the last train to our stop. that and i felt bad for going when some of the under-18's, including me sis RGC and my younger boyfriend-in-law, are huge fans of VNV.

The Dillinger Escape Plan. Always one to put on a good show, the guys did not let anyone down.

I feel urged to say once again that, with the exception of local bands, and the execrable We Will Be Pilots, DEP are down and out one of the most boring and, well, crap bands I've ever seen. I read a book through most of their set.
