Man, I don't know how Roadrunner got them to dress so emo for their band photo. I really, really don't.
One of the singers was wearing a Bolt-Thrower shirt, and his 3/4 length trousers revealed that he had a ruined battlefield and swarm of crows tattooed around one leg and a scaffold with corpses-a-swinging on the other.
the other had a beard that could count as a band member on it's own.
Oh man oh man they RULED.

I always see local concerts, but the last mainstream concert I went to was Alice Cooper. I'm also going to see the Broken Social Scene, Modest Mouse and Metric concert in June. Hurray!

Eels, baby, Eels.
The Eels With Strings tour is on in Europe but I caught an LA warm-up show before they left. They were awesome. Chet Atkins III (referred to by E as "The Chet") was the BEST EEL EVER and the opening shit was pretty cool. Instead of having MC Honky or some little band open, they played a Russian claymation and a bad-ass 5 minute preview for the upcoming "Rock Hard Times" DVD.
They also came back for 3 encores, the last one at which they played a cover of what was apparently a Prince song. I forget the name. The only depressing thing about the show is that Tom Waits didn't show up and there were some rumors floating around that he would. That guy really needs to tour. Fuck you, Tom Waits, for not touring. Are you scared to show your face, and bellow forth from it at octaves unimagined? I NEEEEEED to hear Fillipino Box Spring Hog live before I die. And maybe Going Out West too.

I ran from my exam to the station in order to get to RAMBO last night. The sound was a bit oddly quiet for the supports and Duck Stab sounded like they were having an off night, but Jinn made their usual great performance despite some bass problems in the last song. But RAMBO were just so much fun, so many people stagediving, ridiculous costumes and I even got in the pit which I never do these days.

Saw Murder By Death tonight with a couple local bands. It was fantastic. I love those kids so bad.
