The Last Show You Saw

spizzletrunk:
The last concert I went to was the Pixies in Camden last December.  They kicked everybody's ass at least twice.  The last show in general that I went to was on April 24 when I went to see some local bands playing at the rented-out Polish Club.  God, that sounds so pretentious. . .

Jeridus:
Mars Volta at the Kool Haus in Toronto... oh fuck, it was awesome

Amsterdarn:
Oh, man.  A little while ago I saw, within the space of a week and all for free, Built to Spill, The Books, and Prefuse 73.  Built to Spill was fucking amazing, Prefuse 73 was incredible (openers Battles were damn good, too), and my brain is still too melty to talk coherently about the Books live.  They're about 4 times better live than they are on CD, which should be impossible, but apparently isn't.

Also, I was within 10 feet of the action at all of the shows.  I was all like "GUBBIDAWOAH".

Kai:

--- Quote from: a pack of wolves --- The sound was a bit oddly quiet for the supports and Duck Stab sounded like they were having an off night, but Jinn made their usual great performance despite some bass problems in the last song.
--- End quote ---

That wouldn't have anything to do with The Resident's phenominal album, would it?

a pack of wolves:
Yup, they're named after it. They sound nothing like The Residents though, I don't think most of them have even heard them but their guitarist is a huge fan.

Actually, what would you recommend as a good starting point with The Residents? I never know what to get with these bands who have massive back catalogues. I'm perfectly comfortable with the bizarre so it doesn't have to be the most accessible stuff, I just wonder what are the career highlights.
