skycamefalling.

fucking class.

KharBevNor:
Based on what I'm listening to right now: Star One.

Ayreon Side Project, basically. But seriously awesome. Their medley of Hawkwind tracks with Dave Brock himself on vocals is probably the finest moment of space rock. Ever.

I promise I'll check these out on monday on my lunch break.

It took four more days then I said but I finally am just checking them out.  Awesome stuff.  Reminds me of a band I saw on a friends Neurot records DVD.

La Creme:
To all Europeans seeing Eels with Strings:
Expect pants-creamingly delightful music. They played a two hour set when i saw them pretty much without stopping. Plus they're really mellow this tour (except for the part where the string quartet whipped out maracas and the Chet whipped out a bitching Epiphone and the played Dog Faced Boy harder than rock can rock), which is nice cuz the show went 'til laaaate. It is worth every penny you spent... or euro. Speaking of euros, I need a hotpocket.

a pack of wolves:

--- Quote from: muffy ---Pack of Wolves - I'm something of a novice to kitschy pop, being as most of my music is inherently depressing, BUT...
The Kitsch list at the moment is:
Pipettes (mentionedd already)
Tilly and the Wall (none of my mates know them, but it seems they're pretty popular on here - they have a tap dancing drummer, so it's impossible not to love them!)
Kenickie (sadly, they've been and gone, shouty girl rock/pop, they sang songs about PVC and going out and getting drunk. They were amazing)
Smoosh (a 10 and 12 year old playing the best kind of songs, everyone should investigate them, they epitomise good pop)

And maybe some Beulah, Park Ave (if you can cope with Conor Oberst's involvement), Melys (a bit indie-fied, but a lush welsh band), Kimya Dawson (one half of Moldy Peaches, and, unlike Adam Green, is not a knob), Surferosa (a bit more brash, sort of electo-ish) and Younger Younger 28s...

Wow. I didn't realise quite how much of this stuff I had.

I love Kimya Dawson. She's so sweet when she's doing a gig, and I saw her at the Brudenell which means sitting down and an intimate atmosphere. And a friend played me Smoosh in the car, it was pretty great I've been meaning to check them out more for a while. So the rest of that list will be investigated forthwith.
