THAT'S SKYCLAD, I recommend Folkemon, The Answer Machine or Irrational Anthems for the beginner, maybe Prince of the Poverty Line if you're feeling more adventurous.

Seriously, no ear-drums will be blasted. However, your world may well be rocked to such a vast extent that it turns upside down completely and you have to live on the ceiling.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant. These eardrums have never been exposed to anything louder than Thursday.

You'll like Mock Orange. You will. Just make sure you only get Mind is Not Brain, though. That's their new sound and their most Built to Spill-meets-Led Zepplin sound. It seems to be the one they're going to stick with, too.

(obligatory Dismemberment Plan suggestion since they are my favorite band and were one of the most innovative and skilled bands of their time yaddah yaddah yaddah)

Seriously, Skyclad. They make angst so much bloody fun you forget what it is. A mixture of Hard rock/Heavy metal and folk music (I can imagine them appealing to someone who likes Zep a lot actually) with insanely brilliant lyrics and a wry sense of humour:
