Forgotten classics.
KharBevNor:
I've grown to pretty much dislike later Dimmu Borgir (From my 14 year old position of Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth and Emperor being me three definitive favourite bands ever) but whilst trawling my library at random a couple of days back I came across 'Puritania' by Dimmu Borgir, which I have got to admit is pretty fucking slaying. It sounds nothing like the rest of their stuff though.
"Bygone are tolerance and presence of grace,
Scavengers are sent out to cleanse the human filth parade!"
Listened to some Tom Lehrer again recently as well. YES!
My Aim Is True:
Tom Lehrer is indeed good. if you like him also check out Guy Noir. It's in a similar vein.
Fucking nobody remembers Sugar. They had two GREAT albums, and some so-so EPs. But I hear Bob Mould is playing some Sugar songs on his current solo tour.

The other day I went to my local club and the DJ (who looks worryingly like Jeph) was in the middle of playing a random selection of cheesy 80's stuff. After the crowd declared they wanted more 80's and less metal, he stuck on 'Don't You Forget About Me' by Simple Minds.
Man, that song kicks so much ass.

I have never heard that song ;)
La Creme:
Almost every song on Blondie's "Parallel Lines". It's totally awesome music (if a little simple) with a damn good singer who had a shitload of attitude.
Apparently this used to be my favorite CD when I was 4. So I guess it counts as nostalgia sort of. But it's good music too.
Also, has anyone else ever noticed how much "Dancing Days" is brutally wicked-awesome?
