Magix music is very easy to use, but underpowered and limiting.  you'll get a sound in your head and then you'll come to find it is impossible to make in magix. very frustrating. i use sony acid.

I second the reccomendation for CoolEdit Pro; it's very good for starting off and has enough to work with.

Not sure about the extent to which this violates this forums TOS but for serials, try www.serials.ws . But be warned, it will try to install stuff on your machine and stealing is bad. So don't.
