SONAR 4 Producers Addition

Fruity Loops

about the software, you can at least try some demos or ehem.. 'acquire' it in other methods...

you can use almost any program to multi-track guitar. i use Sony ACID 4.0 but itīs not for everyone. ultra-simple, very friendly, excellent to use with audio. recording stuff and looping them. perhaps the best for you is to use a POD or something, you can get one for about 200 bux used.

Excellent question! I've been wondering the same this very day! (Well, "what would be a good allround music creation program" would be the question I had in my mind... Still kind of the same :))

I saw something called Magix Music Maker (I think it was called...), at €70. Is that stuff worth a shot for a beginning musician?

ASturge:
If you want to record Real AUdio, use SONAR.

I'll 'Yousendit' sometime for you if you PM me.

If you want to use synthetic beats, get fruityloops.

I'll 'Yousendit' that as well ;)

Give me your address and I can burn you a copy of cooledit pro (if I can find the disc somewhere).  You'll have to find a code somewhere online, but that shouldn't be too hard.

You can get a decent number of tracks and record directly into a computer if you have a mic you can hook up or an output cable from your amp, if you're that high-tech.
