And yeah Emaline, just treating it as normal but it seems to only happen once the stretch is totally healed. I imagine it could be something to do with my hair getting into it and fuckin' it up.

Ok, so from what I've heard from the piercers I've talked to, horn is a lot softer compared to bone and shell, but is there any difference between horn and light horn other than color? I'm just asking because I think my next pair is going to be a pair of helixes from Tawapa and if one is better than the other, I'd like to get the more durable of the two. Thanks!

I got a vertical labret. I am in Anise, so I can't meebo anyway, and I have work tonight, so photos will have to wait. I went to Polymorph, and the people there were really nice and fixed my nose stud while I was there so it doesn't hang down any more. I am a definite satisfied customer!

k here is an update from my earlier post. After going to the guy for 3hours of work and $240 this is what i got

I still have to go back and get color added but still I'm very pleased with the results. Also on a different subject my girlfriend flew in for my Bday today and surprised me. So basically my 30th birthday was the best one ever.

I really like it!

I want to get some new piercings and I can totally afford them! The only thing holding me back is the worry that I won't be able to find a job (I'm looking for retail work) very easily with facemetal. That and the fact that my dad will very likely disown me and I kind of like him.

ok, so, the top ball came off during the evening (I was watching Kick Ass), so I had to go into a (public?) bathroom and faff about with it until i could get it screwed back on. I have soaked it and am icing it to try and help with the swelling, but am too scared at the moment that it is going to come off again in my sleep to go to bed. It is feeling less tight on my lip, but I am still terrified of it getting infected.

Going to go back to the piercers tomorrow to talk to them about it.

Its going to be brass and copper with a little metal blue thrown in as well. I'm really happy with the amount of detail he put into it. I cant wait to see what its going to look like with the color added.

guys! guys! guys! My new plugs came in from HeartonSleeveJewelry.com and my wonderful wife took pictures of them while I am at work so here we are!

They will develop a green hue with sun exposure apparently and that is where the color that the earlier examples I posted will come from. Fun!

Looks good! I'm glad you didn't get a portrait tattoo of your dog. While the dog is certainly a sweetie I think that portraits will never look as good as you think they will so Gizmo is a better option.

Guys I'm trying to come up with ideas for a back piece, I'm thinking of something really big, possibly Chernabog the Devil from the Night on Bald Mountain scene in Fantasia. It's one of my favourite pieces of music and certainly one of the most memorable pieces of animation I think Disney has ever put out (and a favourite from my childhood). I was thinking having him sitting atop Bald Mountain with the ghosts and demons swirling around him.

Something like this:

a better photo, finally! my lip is still swollen, I guess, but it used to be so swollen that it filled up that extra bar length. I am looking forward to changing to a smaller bar, because I am already bumping the extra length all the time. Actually, now that I look at the photo better, it is more swollen than I thought. Hopefully that goes down more soon, because my mouth looks really bottom-heavy at the moment.

and yeah the swelling goes down over the course of the first week or two. a friend of mine got the same thing and she looked like she was pouting for a while because of the puffiness.

update...HOLY CRAP IT ITCHES. Seriously i had no idea it would be this bad. I keep putting lotion and carmax on it but its driving me insane. This is almost as bad as the tattoo itself but at least the tattoo pain went away after a day. This has been going on for 3days now and im begging it to stop.

Yeah, i've been dealing with that too. Mine stopped itching too much because people would grab my arm a lot to look at it so they'd usually grab the right spot.

Would this make a good tattoo?

Without the text. Would the white spy present a problem? How does white ink look and how does it last?

Should I include the background colors (I like the red/white/black dynamic as opposed to just white/black) and if so, how?
