Psychobilly, heavy djungle, acid jazz and ska? Need tips!
Mrdangerous:
How could you not like Save Ferris? I mean, yeah, they're not just great, but they're still fairly good.
ALso, how dare no one mention Catch-22? Keasbey Nights. That's really all of their stuff I've ever listened to that was worth listening to.
La Creme:
Acid Jazz + Ska = Mephiskapheles
They are pretty fucking great.
Besides them for ska, I say the best you can buy is:
Roots Ska: nothin' beats Toots and the Maytals, The Skatalites, and Desmond Decker (and related projects)
2-tone: early Toasters, Madness, The Specials, and the English Beat ("Just Can't Stop" is one of the greatest ska albums ever.)
3rd Wave: The Hippos, The Siren Six (Indie-ska, for seriously), Fishbone, F.O.E. (Forces Of Evil), Reel Big Fish (first three albums), The Blue Meanies (insane ska-core), and The Aquabats.
For Psychobilly: Necromantix. The Ghastly Ones*. That is all.
(Seriously, Man or Astro-man? are totally sci-fi surf. They really do destroy face though.)
*Khar, you have no idea how happy I am with myself for getting you into these guys. Aren't they just the baddest mufukas in town?

Jesse James.
stealthbadger:
I'd say that old-skool psychobilly is pretty difficult to get into, but there's not a lot of new stuff about.
My reccomendation for modern Psychobilly would have to be "Horse of The Dog" by the Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster. Their second album ("the royal society") is debatably better, but strays from the psychobilly mold, into some kind of bonkers circus of horros themed super-heavy madness.
But yeah, definately check out the eighties matchbox b-line disaster.
KharBevNor:
80's Match-Box B-Line Disaster are so not psychobilly. They so are teh suck though. And I've seen them live.#
The Ghastly Ones rule ass.
Also, listen to more Leftover Crack. Just about the only band I'd ever skank to. I mean, I love these guys, and I hate ska. That's how good they are.
