Ive been listening to Drum n Bass and some Djungle alot lately, but nothing really heavy and blazin (blazin is a word, right?). On destroyer.net, a awesome internetradio-station, I heard some really crazy stuff by some band called Audio1 9 21 05, and I want more like it. Somewhere between Djungle and DnB, with drums like machinegunfire and a baseline mean enough to scare Darth Vader. Got any tips?

The chances of the band being called Audio1 9 21 05 strikes me as fairly slim. I would wager a guess that they simply recorded a mix and never titled it properly, so it went up as 'Audio1' followed by the date 9/21/05, which I assume is when it was recorded. However, as I'm awesome I have done much research, and I can reveal that I was half right. It was a date, but the DJ was in fact called Audio1.
The tracklist might have been:
Doja-Be Good [Dubplate]
PAWN-Nuh Stop We (Remix) [Dubplate]

He says that was on the 20th, but he also denies putting up a set on the 21st, so that's probobly it. Lot's of dubplates, so I haven't heard many of the actual tunes, but a bunch of the artists are familier. Lot's of Evil shit. If that's the one, you can get the MP3 of the whole mix here I'd start by looking into the artists above, though I imagine most of their stuff will be vinyl singles only. Also, try the Nightlife CD by Andy C. That has it's evil moments.
By all means listen to Photek, he is awesome, but bear in mind that he's slightly calmer than this lot.

--- Quote from: Bunnyman ---Psychobilly - The Phenomenauts. Their official genre is "Sci-Fi Rocket Roll." Lots of goofy fun. And in the same vein, check out Man or Astroman!.

i second The Phenomenauts, but Man or Astro-Man? is more of a surf band. they're amazing, regardless, though.

OK, I've been listening to drum&bass since 95 or so, and I've never heard someone say "djungle".
I like the lighter side, or really technical beats like Photek (older stuff) or Paradox. You'd probably want to try Photek's newer stuff first (I can't stand it :P ). However, the new Drumfunk comp... well worth it.
But for something closer to the, er, "djungle" end of the jungle spectrum, from this old head... Technical Itch, Calyx (the Audio Couture stuff mostly, although you *really* should dig into the entire Moving Shadow catalog), Konflict (and Kemal solo), Digital, UFO!, Stakka & (Skynet, K-Tee, whoever), Subphonics, Future Prophecies, Dom & Roland, Dylan.
Magnetic by Johnny L is possibly the most underrated artist LP ever. For label LPs, you should definitely check Voyager on Audio Blueprint, Torque on No U Turn, and 23° From Vertical on DSCI4.
This is all more tech/dark than pounding, really, but what can I say, I was never a Panacea fan.

As far as acid jazz goes, there are a few good DJs out there that I listen to on a regular basis.
St. Germaine - The Tourist is probably the cd that got me hooked on acid jazz. He has a few other really good compilations out there.
Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz (there are various volumes) is also another really good set of acid jazz. He is also a house DJ so make sure you look for the Mushroom Jazz sets. His house sets are rocking too though!
There are a few others, but I can't think of them right now. Will riffle through my CDs and then post them.
