Playing Bass guitar, any tips?

I tend to disagree. I play both (not excellent at either) I find that guitars are harder to learn, but easier to master and basses are easier to learn, but harder to master (look at Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Stuart Hamm)

If you really want to get faster start by learning about three or four jazz scales. Practice these until yo can play them perfectly every time. then use a metronome. Start slow. I mean slow. And slowl build up rythm after you have played the scale perfectly four or five times without messing up. Only go up about ten beats per minute each time. And by the time you are good enough to go 240 bpm on a scale perfectly five times, you can play any speed you want without sounding like crap.
