Playing Bass guitar, any tips?

Bass is a total bitch to play and anyone who says guitars are harder has never played a bass and is bullshitting themselves. Seriously.



This thread'll be useful, because I'm pretty... godawfully bad at the bass.

Or, if you're in a funk band, just play as loud and slappy as possible and hope someone mistakes you for Les Claypool until they realize that you are not a badass.



And I don't necessarily think guitar is all that hard to master, but I guess that depends on your definition of master. I feel that I can play some bitchin' guitar (80's slang words! WOO) and that I can write music that doesn't suck (From my point of view; of course, I'm always right. Always).
