Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond pt. 1

is it wrong that I treat Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon as pleasant bagground noise?
Because that is all it is to me...

Venom - Raise the Dead

Absolutely every old-school black metal band always has to have a song about how they are basically so evil that they've died and been spat back out by hell. I love how Bathory have a song with exactly the same title about exactly the same thing, made almost at the same time, and they're totally different songs.

Neither quite matches up to 'Evil' by Mercyful Fate though.

Which reminds me, why exactly would Hell hire King Diamond as a mercenary anyway? Couldn't Satan just waited until he died, then claimed his soul anyway without the promise of financial compensation? And where does Satan get money anyway?

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons

I remember a time
My frail, virgin mind
Watched the crimson sunrise
Imagined what it might find
Life was filled with wonder
I felt the warm wind blow
I must explore the boundaries
Transcend the depth of winter's snow

Innocence caressing me
I never felt so young before
There was so much life in me
Still I longed to search for mooooooore!

Before anyone else says it: HAHA HE SAID VIRGIN!!!!1!!1!

Or maybe because Electro Shock Blues is one of the most genuinely depressing albums of all time. I can also totally play that song and have found the right way to set up pedals and amps and things for 110% perfect tone. Gorgeous.

Zombina & The Skeletones - Nobody Likes You When You're Dead

Still one of the best damn choruses ever.

"Nobody likes you when you're dead,
It just ain't right!
Just 'cos I'm biting on your head,
There's no need to be impolite!
And if I still had eyes,
Then I would surely cry!
Nobody likes you when you're dead,
and that's the story of my life!"

And I swear I'm not actually a music snob, but four hours straight on a semi-daily basis is about my limit for a genre I don't like.
