Fun Stuff > BAND
Local (to you) bands that rock.
Kai:
He's sleeping on your floor? Beat him. Like, 3 times. Because you should just to be an ass.
a pack of wolves:
I was slapping him earlier actually. We thought it might be a good idea to wake him up, but it had no effect. Thankfully, after briefly speaking in tongues he staggered out and I heard the clattering noise of him failing to negotiate the stairs down to the basement, and most likely passing out blissfully in front of his bedroom.
kitsunefire:
Here in canada, the only local band (aka they all now live here) is Stutterfly, and I haven't actually heard abnything by them...so I'm not sure I'd recomend them...oh! Nostalgebra is another good band getting into the scene...

littlealex:
I live in Montréal. I could go on at length about the local band scene here.
But as it's 5am and I need sleep, I'll save all that for tomorrow. Dramatic suspense!

Australia - PATHOGEN!
(I'll add my own band when I record our stuff! haha)
I saw this band when COB came and toured last month and my god! The live show they put on was incredible, it was high energy and of high standard. Pulled off flawless guitar tandem techniques, vocals never faulted, and kept the crowd happy for an hour, even while we were waiting for COB!
In Australia, and I think a lot of you others Aussies will agree, that most of our bands are just crappy ripoffs of other scandinavian and american bands. The pop and maintream-alternative rock bands are all the next-gen nirvana wannabes, while the metal is all screaming death/melodic death, and theres also a lot of bad emo/hardcore bands hitting the underground latey. I wont even go into hiphop... This Pathogen band are good because they dont just ripoff one band, they ripoff about 3 which is a welcome change. You can hear old In Flames, Opeth and Maiden in their work, but they pull it off well.
