^ Good point. Gantz is one of the best screamo bands I've ever heard, and they're French. I think the metalcore and/or power-violence scenes have eaten up a lot of the screamo scenes in the US, plus of course most American emo bands last less than three years so it's kind of hard to keep a scene going that way.

If you're looking for a good German screamo band though, you might want to take a look at A Fine Boat That Coffin. I saw them live some time ago, they are pretty good, and stylistically interesting in that they mix screamo with grind and jazz elements. At least that's the impression I got live. Their new album also got some good reviews, but personally, I haven't heard it yet.

Eaves broke up? Damn, I really wanted to see them again, I couldn't really appreciate them at Summerslam since it was way too hot in the room to appreciate them properly.
I've heard a couple of mp3s by AFBTC and I must say I was pretty impressed. I might have to lay my hands on that album. Rumblemoose, who are these Gantz people? I wish to know more!

You can't really Google for Gantz (the band) without getting overwhelmed by results for Gantz (the anime), but here is a track and here is another track. Both are taken from releases that I believe are still in print, even, and distributed by I've Come For Your Children distro. Honestly I haven't found much information about them, I just know they're French (you can hear it distinctly during the breakdowns), they write very long songs with multiple extended breakdowns, and they're pretty damn good.

By the way, a pack of wolves, if you're into screamo from Germany, you really ought to check out A Case Of Grenada. They are, in my humble opinion, the best Germany has to offer in terms of screamo right now.
And they absolutely kick ass live too.
