Talk about music that's made you laugh. Not necessarily because of funny lyrics but just because of how strange, ridiculous or bad it is.

The first time I heard cradle of filth I could not stop laughing (I don't listen to that sort of music often), something about the screaming about death and the sheer noise real cracked me up, mabye I'm just weird.

William Hung. In a bad way. I feel like I shouldn't be laughing, since I'd be laughing AT him, but c'mon. The whole reason he does what he does is because it makes people laugh. Laugh at him, yes, but he still gets paid.

The first time I listened to the Aquabats it made me laugh in the good way, though.

And, the first time I heard M.I.A. I LOLed all over the floor. I don't think her music was meant to be funny, but I couldn't stop laughing at it.

DJ Rankin -

And the title of the song is acutally part of the joke, so I'm going to prolong the suspense...

DJ Rankin - EI OH EI OH EI OH , HERE WE FUKIN GO! LETS GO, LETS GO , LETS GO FUKIN MENTAL!!!

I kid ye not. This 2:12 is a Happy Hardcore anthem gone horribly, horribly wrong.  I was laughing so hard I suspect I may have pulled my diaphagm or something similar.

Fleurety - My Ressurection In Eternal Hate

This song made me laugh my ass off the first time I heard it since the vocals are absolutely ridiculous.  They're SUPER high pitched bat shriek vocals.  Imagine Dani Filth sped up 3 or 4 times.  Yeah, that high pitched.  He sounds like he's trying to use sonar.

Laugh in the good way: anything by Tom Lehrer, Crotchduster, Ninja Magic, Lawnmower Deth, Invasion of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom, Blackthrone, Spinal Tap, Metal Duck, Evig Kveld, Satan's Penguins or Kompressor. Much Beatallica, Anal Cunt, Dwarves and GWAR. A lot of Anti-Nowhere League and Stormtroopers of Death (particularly Pre-Menstrual Princess Blues, The Ballad of Jimi Hendrix and Celtic Frosted Flakes).

There's lots that makes me smile with glee, but not really laugh. Anything with King Diamond in it, for example.

As for music to laugh AT, well, I'm not sure, I think a lot of music's bad, but I normally spit rather than laugh.

Actually, thinking about it, Bullet For My Valentine made me laugh whilst crying tears of despair for modern rock music. And when I saw Atreyu live, they had an emo roady, bawling out "TESTIIING! TEEEEESTING!!!" Which was highly amusing. Actually, if you can get over how depressing it is that it actually exists, a lot of emo is pretty funny.

Also, now I'm on a roll, bad power metal bands can be most amusing, but I tend to think of their inadequacies as charming. I mean, I'd pay money to see Winterlong in concert.

Yeah, I know I'm an idiot.

Ween. Their stuff makes me laugh, in a good way. The HIV Song is sheer genius, for example. And Mister, Would You Please Help My Pony is just disturbing.

Also, Anal Cunt, Die Kassierer and Eisenpimmel make me laugh in what I suppose is a good way. The D4's Exit To The City always makes me grin because of the overuse of standard solos.

Pretty much all German gangsta rap makes me laugh in a sort of feeling sorry for humanity and Germany in particular kind of way.
And Khar: The first time I heard Bullet For My Valentine, I thought it was some kind of joke (I saw the video on MTV which made the whole thing even worse). I kept on waiting for the punchline but it didn't happen. Turns out they're serious after all. Life is hilariously cruel.

What's really annoying is, Bullet For My Valentine are awful riff-stealers. My annoying emo mate plays them all the time whilst I'm round his house, mainly because he knows it pisses me off I think, but they have this one song that is basically 'Monochromatic Stains' by Dark Tranquillity except with some depressed welsh bloke wailing over the top about his heart drowning in tears of black blood that rain like a torrent of rejection from the loveless sky of his misery, or something like that. They actually have some lyrics that are worse than Hawthorne Heights, which I hadn't really thought possible.

Even good power metal can be hilarious. The first time I heard the first five seconds of Dream-Evil's "The Book of Heavy Metal" I completely cracked up, because I wasn't even aware that kind of metal existed.

Also, probably "The Ice of Boston" by the Dismemberment Plan, mostly because of the lyrics but also because of Travis Morrison's imitation of his mother in the middle of the second verse.

And nearly anything by Dufus makes me laugh because it's so out there. On one song he has a bridge that includes nearly a minute of what sounds like him not being able to remember the words or find a note, and panicking, then all of a sudden he comes in really strong and you realize not only the panicking was intentional, but it was all preplanned. Plus he's just got a really weird voice and he changes singing styles like every ten seconds.

And I bet the ones I'd mention, like Son of Dork or Busted, you'd say 'they don't count, they're pop' or some shit to bail you out.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that I didn't actually play the piano to it. Nope, not that good, especially in high school. Apparently the words were enough to get me the prize.

Also, I second Electric Six, because of the line already quoted and, of course, "Fire in the disco! Fire in the Taco Bell!"

Tom Lehrer
Allan Sherman
Ugly Duckling
Weird Al
Country Joe and the Fish
some of the jokier Desert Sessions tracks
Electric Six (apparently the look on my face when I first heard the "Stop! ... Continue!" section of "Improper Dancing" was beyond priceless.)
Jesus H Christ
Louis Logic (his rhymes are sometimes so ridiculously great that laughing is the only appropriate response)
Phish's "Gin and Juice" cover
R. L. Burnside's "The Criminal Inside Me" has a couple bits near the end that are fucking comic gold.
Roky Erickson's lyrics are sometimes too freaky to not be laughed at, even thought they're awesome.
Tenacious D
They Might Be Giants

But if you REALLY want a laugh out of acoustic black metal, you need to get the Invered Necrogoat/Mork Pikk split 'Frostbitten Aural Rape', and you NEED the video to Örgh's 'Rölli the Ultimate Alphamale of the Satanic Trolls Sodomizing the Weakling Elf with an Enormous Norwegian Pine Tree'. Both can probably be got from Grim Records, if they're still around, or from Örgh's site, which I frankly can't be arsed to locate.

Ian Tyson's "The Ambler Saddle" is the most ridiculous song of the year.

It's a song written from the point of view of the saddle, the instrumentation is akin to cheesy elevator music, and he does the guitar solos with his mouth. Enough said.

He's a VERY dead-pan Scotish comedian/performer, who does music as well.  I'm pretty sure he's still alive but he's pretty old.  Some of his stuff is just plain hilarious while some of his other stuff is just plain touching.

For hilarious get 'Where The River Bends' and his stand up type stuff.

For touching get 'Little Cosmos'.

Did I mention he's deadpan?  I mean REALLY deadpan.  He makes Jack Dee look like Plus Tech Squeeze-box.
