The amount of stoner rock and metal I listen to would probably suggest I smoke the good stuff a lot more than I actually do. Acid Bath are my favourite of all time, followed closely by Ewigkeit, Orange Goblin, Old Pink Floyd, Sleep, Hawkwind and Electric Wizard. I personally have a somewhat loose definition of stoner rock of course: songs about taking drugs are not necessary, as long as it is patentyly obvious that the songs were written on drugs. I also tend to drop a wider family of drugs into the stoner rock category: as long as a band has a few dope-tastic songs they can get away with a bit of ketamine, mushrooms or heroin on other tracks. Or even just extreme drunkenness.
I would suspect a lot of people round here might like stuff like Placebo, as opposed to ultra-heavy stoner groove whatsits. I must say I do personally have a bit of a soft spot for them, especially the tracks 'Special K', 'Pure Morning', 'Every Me Every You', 'Teenage Angst' and 'Brick Shithouse'.

fave stoner rock band would have to be old floyd, or maybe king crimson (are they even stoner rock)

King Crimson aren't really sotner rock; You can get stoned to them, sure, why the hell not, but I don't imagine Robert Fripp ever actually smoking any, and it doesn't sound like they were really on drugs when writing any of it.
