No matter what game is better, VIII had the best opening movie of any video game ever made, EVER!

Cartilage Head:
GODDAMNIT!! NINE OWNS YOUR BALLS!!
I cannot think of one with a more completely satisfying experience! A perfectly balanced skill and battle system, amazing characters (that people seem not to like simply because they don't LOOK like pop stars) and the most tolerable ending EVER! GAWWD!!

Kai:
I just remember not liking the story of nine much. Cliche-esque.

I actually felt the combat in this game was among the least balanced, and least enjoyable, of the entire series.  And it wasn't the visual aspect of the characters that bothered me, it was how uninspired and often irritating they were.  Also, I never like it when a game forces you to use your main character, and promptly makes him one of the weakest of the whole team.  It was one of my few gripes about Super Mario RPG, too.

Fuck, thanks for reminding me about Super Mario RPG, I loved that game. Anyways to add to my point above, how can there even be an argument; III was the best (that’s North American III, I dont know which number it is in Japan but it’s the one with Tera and Kefka and King Edgar and all that). The battles were straight forward, but not too easy, the characters were fully fleshed out, and the story, oh god the story, it still blows my mind and I've beaten it like 5 or 6 times. VII was great, I'm still playing X but it's fun so far VIII was even pretty cool (and lets not forget II), but come on guys, its all about fuckin Kefka!
