Kai:
It wasn't really meant to be another tactics though. Some of the battles in the original tactics took me like, a good hour and a half to two hours. Not well suited for a portable thing.

Chesire Cat:
Still doesn't forgive the fact that every battle plays out the same.  YAWN!

Hustler:

--- Quote from: Spinless ---The original tactics never got a UK release.
Don't think there was a PAL version at all. So no tactics for the aussies either.

You know, I was looking at some big million seller game list the other day, and I noticed that outside of the US and Japan, FFT had sold virtually no copies.  I guess that's part of the reason why.  Well, if you are any fan of strategic RPGs, you MUST import this game.  It's the king of the genre in both gameplay and story, even if said story is poorly translated.  Really, the only thing lacking from this game was a decent editor to correct the many glaring errors in the dialogue, skill names, and so on.

Oh, and Kai, I've never had a battle in Tactics go that long unless:

1. I was trying to steal stuff or learn something from a boss (getting the Genji equipment and Ultima being the two chief examples)

2. I was trying to find the path to the next level in the Deep Dungeon

3. I went and ate dinner while the game was still on.

However, it was never a question of putting Tactics on the GBA, I doubt the meager system could handle the game.  But creating a bastardized mix of FFT and TO, with a straight-up Disney story thrown into the mix (and not good Disney, I mean like straight-to-video sequel Disney)......there had to be some better options out there.  Just a scaled-down port would've been far superior, even if it wasn't original.

Cartilage Head:
Hell if this isn't a nice,long-lasting forum! You guys are SUPERCOOL. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!

Cartilage Head:
