My current desktop, I usually turn the weather thing off when not using it, and run conky instead of crystal-monitor, but pretty it is. Yes, that is a P3 667, yes, it is shiny, yes it has 384mb RAM, yes, it DOES encode a DVD to H264 in just over 4 hours, OpenMOSIX FTW. If you take the image source and change it to snapshot2, you can see how my desktop buttons normally look, for some reason they grey'ed out when I took this. This computer does not run compiz or any of its variants, and features an 8MB onboard GFX chip.
I'm sorry, but someone neglected to include a fucking GUI with imagemagick
<snip>
Which begs the question of how, exactly, one uses it.
I'm sorry, but LOL, man imagemagick is awesome, as is imagemagick --help or going to teh website and reading up, it's not hard. And it's a hell of a lot faster than having a GUI. I think the problem is ubuntu, or whichever distro you use. Most distro's in this thread are too GUI intensive, teaching you nothing about the workings of your computer and how things fit together. As it is,t here is too much ubuntu abuse going on, and PLEASE make xfce look nice, it can do so much better.
