--- Quote from: Houdinimachine ---I also really enjoy Imogen Heap's solo stuff. Just as long as she goes back to Frou Frou after.

the question arises:  Is Imogen Heap's solo stuff the side project, or is Frou Frou the side project?  Imogen released a solo album years before she was part of Frou Frou

Kai:
Are the Analord piece things still considered a side project if it's the same one guy? Because if so, then yes.

Ambeon/Star One/Other Arjen Lucassen projects.
Pretty much every Mike Patton thing ever: His John Zorn collaborations, Tomahawk, Fantomas, his two solo albums (Adult Themes of Voice is amazing), X-Ecutioners, etc.
Bruce Dickinson's Solo work
Pretty much every Bill Laswell project ever.
Buckethead (Technically he was in the Deli Creeps first). And Death Cube K, Praxis, Giant Robot, and many other little things.
Les Claypool Side projects (Sausage, Frog Brigade, Holy Mackerel, Bucket of Bernie Brains, etc.)
Fugazi.
John Petrucci/Liquid Tension Experiment
Various John Zorn things.
TECHNICALLY, Motorhead is a side project of Lemmy's from Hawkwind. Kinda-maybe.

Well, I've always found it hard to consider a solo artist's band work the side project unless it's like The Bens.

Needless to say, I prefer her Frou Frou stuff more, but that's just me.

Kai, your list is good, but you're forgetting the bloody obvious one:

DEMONS & WIZARDS.
