Patrick:
LOLocaust, you said G string.

But yeah there's "Tears in Heaven" by Clapton, it's surprisingly easy. Any and all early Beatles works too.

Rizzo:
I prefer to finger a minor in the g string.

What?

sac_magic:
I can't believe no one said Good Riddance yet. hell, learn C, G, D and Em and you can play every token 1-per-album pop-punk "sad" song ever written.

Ghostwriter:
...Heh.  I've been playing guitar nigh two years now, and I've fucking never learned anything remotely close to a classic rock song (no, not even Smoke on the Water).

I think the first full song I learned to play all the way through was A.F.I - Morningstar.  It's pretty slow, and it's good for working on your (muted) downpicking.  It also just sounds absolutely lovely.

Learn to play some Tool.  A lot of it isn't that hard, if I remember correctly, and Adam's guitarwork sounds consistently awesome.

Thrillho:

--- Quote from: That guy ---I recently aquired a guitar in a game of chance and I figured I should learn how to play it.  I'm trying to learn some indie music but I'm not sure where to start.  If anyone has some good suggestions about albums to learn from, I would be gracious.  I know about the required listen section, but that has a lot of albums and I don't have enough money for all of them.
