McSweeney's Quarterly Concern

is the one of the most amazing thing ever, ever, ever.

ie:

McSweeney's Issue 13; Edited by Chris Ware
Issue 13 is a Very Special Issue. We might say that a lot, and we mean it every time, but this time we really really mean it. This issue is all comics. It is edited by Chris Ware (author of Jimmy Corrigan: Smartest Kid on Earth), and features so many artists to know and love: R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman, Daniel Clowes, Lynda Barry, Los Bros Hernandez, Adrian Tomine, Julie Doucet, and on and on. The issue also includes essays from Michael Chabon, Ira Glass, John Updike, Chip Kidd, and others. Hardcover, clothbound, with an enormous dust jacket that does much more than guard against dust. This one makes our throats go tight

i suggest everyone read an issue of it at some point in their lives. :)

I super heart McSweeneys. I picked up a copy of the best of McSweeneys for $10 the other day. $10 New Zealand. A steal.

Ive got one ofthem kicking around, its my roommates hes kind of an artist.

Anyway, I didn't really dig it much, I font know, I guess I just cant get into an art book unless it serves as a vehicle for an interesting story.  IE. Graphic Novels.

But McSweeny's clearly has its shit together as far as presentation.  A really tight book IMHO.

Oooh, this looks very interesting. I was given Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid On Earth graphic novel for Valentines and i adored that. Also, the list of artists who've contributed is making me drool ever so slightly. To the comic book depository!
