I was freebasing water between each song at some point because of how hot it got. I think I did my level best to Picciotto during our set.

Christophe

In any case JCizz those are some nice words about my band and thank you for them

valley_parade

I have nothing but nice things to say about you dudes, Chris.

But that's because you put me in the thank yous on your EP.

Thank you, sir.  As a fellow Arizonan, you are one of the few QC fans that actually has an opportunity to check this band out.  (I believe you went a few years ago to see my other band, Thankful Birds, who also have a disk coming out this year).  If anybody is looking to check out the flavor of the tracks without sitting through a half an hour (lazy asses) please try "Tied,"it's easily my favorite track to play.

that's a really good song jc. those guitar notes are so nice

also here are two songs we recorded as, respectively, the intro and outro for a local community radio show. this was really fun to do and i'm really proud of having made instrumental music that has a specific purpose. it felt super cool.

sooooo my favorite
johnny c, i'll have you know that last year i made a mixtape with that on it and it preceded "pitch" by BP, which is really important because usually when songs are super good like that i place only songs that are worthy enough to be around them

this is just another version of my piano piece, but it's actually exported from sibelius so it doesn't sound like utter dogshit. also, i mucked with the beginning a little, i think its better. im gonna muck with this more too until i feel that it is "done", so ill post another version then.

So this weekend my band the Seedheads is finally recording again (the first time we tried to record the tracks were accidentally deleted in the mixing process due to computer troubles), this time in kindof a fancy studio for free! Hopefully it'll be enough for an EP. *crosses fingers* We made live demos of some our song and sent them to our producer so he's not coming blind into the recording session like in the past. They don't sound the best but I think they're  pretty good for being recorded with two shitty microphones in a drum practice room. Our bassist suggested putting them up on the net anyway, so here they are:

I make music sometimes, usually with a guitar and then I process it and add processed field recordings into the mix. This is a piece called "Widow's Walk," it's the first one I've ever shared publicly. It is named for these little rooftop platforms on some houses in coastal New England and the idea is the wives of sailors would go up to these platforms when the fishing/whaling ships were meant to return to port. Often the women would learn from these small spaces that they were widows because they would see that the ship their husband had left on was not returning. The field recordings in this piece are largely taken from two different widow's walks on Nantucket off the coast of Massachusetts. The guitar was recorded on the island as well.

so over the course of the past two semesters, i've been throwing around a lot of ideas on guitar, and today i think i've actually turned one of those ideas into an actual song type thing, and i have two others i could probably turn into songs, so i think i wanna try to do a rough 3 song instrumental demo type thing before the semester ends, woop. got a week and a half at most TIME ME

Here's a second track. I'm pretty happy with it. It's made largely from field recordings. The great Richard  Teitelbaum (my electronic music professor) called it "intense and interesting" which I'm going to take as a compliment.

Okay so Kabir and I have hella shit recorded, he's just being a ween0r of a perfectionist about everything, so the stuff we recorded isn't "ready" or some shit. However, I do have this cover of Elliott Smith's "Waltz #2" if it will help tide you over

I did this in about 90 minutes, the only "effects processing" I did was EQ and pan. I didn't do anything exceptionally unique or interesting with the song, it's a pretty straight cover, but hopefully you like it. I didn't master it super loud because I like things with *oMg DyNaMiCs* and stuff so you might just wanna turn your shit up.

Hey I guess it's appropriate for me to talk about this here? One of my class projects was to develop an 'outdoor gaming experience'. We kind of threw that out of the window and instead made a sonic landscape on Arthur's Seat which you could listen to by using your phone and walking around, and depending on your location specific music would get played out to you.

It was all ambient stuff, I built the app, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. On the presentation day we got about 30 people to come to the place and try it out, and you could hear all the music everyone was making when they were walking around, it was really kind of neat.

Well, Kabir and I recorded a pretty solid demo this week. I present to you the unofficial original release of said demo, which I have called Deer In Very Sexy Headlights. Only "A.H." is finished, and we can't even agree on that yet haha. Still, we're pretty stoked and would love some feedback!

I think I'm gonna buy that bass I posted in the guitar thread, and at the very least a decent USB interface, and start recording some crazy drum-less hardcore soon.

I am at a loss of how to respond to your post.

Either I could say something like "Uh, no man, if you listened to us you would see that we're not." But then it would seem like I was being super serious about this and have no humor for your joke and don't even get the reference.

Or I could say like "Oh yeah man, that's a funny reference." but that just seems like a waste of a post.

Or I could babble on about how I 'm having trouble responding to your post.

The Mountain Goats have a record, All Hail West Texas, on which the opening track is titled The Best Ever Death Metal Band In Denton.  It's also a pretty good song.
