Really? That song bothered me because the title reminded me of Blinded By the Lights by The Streets and then I was disappointed when I listened to it. I'll give it another listen.

Nor is there Daft Punk (I need to learn how to read posts better). Or Battles.

I take offense to this list. It is broken and needs fixing.

Ok recommend me some individual LCD Soundsystem songs then. I have Sound of Silver. I also put those two tracks from Alive 2007 on there as far as Daft Punk is concerned. I don't have any other Daft Punk stuff so I'm kind of stuck there. Battles tend to be too weird for the general public. I really like them but the people that will be dancing don't necessarily have the same taste as me.

And I don't know The Pulse. (Or Holy Fuck if that is a song by Holy Fuck. I was just assuming that you were saying Holy Fuck.)

But I will definitely listen to and possibly add songs as you guys and ladies recommend them.

Tribulations. Daft Punk Is Playing at My House. Us v Them. North American Scum. And don't forget the Franz Ferdinand version of All My Friends (the original isn't quite as dance-tastic, although it is better overall).

Also yes, The Pulse is a song by Holy Fuck, and it would work well. Also if you're including Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart there is no excuse for not having Shadowplay on there, or at least The Killers' cover of it (which, like with the Franz Ferdinand/All My Friends debacle, is more danceable).

I've had the whole 'killing a dancefloor' experience with DFA 1979. Watching a full dancefloor stop moving entirely is pretty demoralising...It wasn't until I slipped in Blood Brothers that half of them actually left, though..

Yes, The Pulse is a song by Holy Fuck. Very fast paced rythmic drumming.

No Love Lost - LCD Soundsystem. Another Joy Division cover, this one is more dancesble than the original

In terms of Crystal Castles, you'll need the song Crimewave

You also need Relativity by Grafton Primary. Sounds a lot like 80's New Wave though you might consider it New Rave.

:) Please do! Alas, I've been banned from the CD player at my own house parties, so have had to resort to setting up my own club nights in which to play songs that are good - the upside is, all people present are over 18 and spannered on cheap booze...
The downside is, they keep asking for the sodding Kooks. Morons. No-one can dance to some over-played, under-talented dickwads singing about their Brit-school educated, talent deficient girlfriends in a mockney accent with tunes pillaged from artists who were, at best, mediocre in their time.

Throw in some Late of The Pier (Bathroom Gurgle as the ultimate), The Ghost Frequency and a spot of the Beastie Boys' Sabotage for old time's sake, and then you're away!

Either that, or ostracised. Either works.

They've got a diferent mix of it on their myspce. it's about 2 minutes shorter, a litlle faster, louder and more enjoyable/dancable.

I don't have any other Daft Punk stuff so I'm kind of stuck there.

Instructions:

1) Get Discovery and Homework

2) Do nothing but listen to them

3) Repeat step two

4) Repeat step two some more

5) Pick your favorite and songs and put them on the mix

I just realized there is no Ratatat on this list.

Get some Ratatat one there too. The song "Seventeen Years" should serve you well. It's on their s/t.

There may not have been proper Ratatat, but there were quite a sufficient amount of Ratatat remixes. And as well all know, Ratatat plus anything else equals awesome squared.

My housemate wanted me to submit my playlist to her to make sure that it was acceptable to everyone and there was no crazy stuff. GRR. At least one of my other housemates is adventurous music-wise. Also, the Kooks are the worst band I have ever heard. No word of a lie, I would much rather listen to Complete than the Kooks. They're more talented.

Actually, the funny thing about this is that I was thinking of using Seventeen Years in place of one of the remixes because my roommate told me whilst listening to the Party and Bullshit remix that, "This asshole has ruined too many good songs." I basically just agreed to disagree with him, but if he doesn't like it then there is no guarantee that other people will like it.

Speaking of awesomely danceable songs, thank you for that mix E. How many volumes are you planning on making because I'm greedy for more of what you have to share. The rave I DJed was a success, and I used a good amount of songs from your mix. The thing went from
8:00 to 1:00 in the morning.

11h30 by Danger. I'm addicted to that song. It was a free iTunes single a couple weeks back and I've been hooked ever since.

EDIT:

Sure "Frontier Psychiatrist" is great, but do you really want to tango?

HELL YES!!!

EDIT 2:

"Ain't Nothing Wrong with That" by Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Thread over.

I did Vol II yesterday, and have been trying to upload it, but mediafire craps out every time. At this point i am forced to upload it in sendspace, which takes ass long.
My computer died and even thouugh i fixed it, most of my music is gone, i still have it n the ipod, but it is inaccesible from this computer because it fails to ecognize most usb devices. This made making the mix more interesting, though, because i was working with a much smaller palette. I think it came out a bit more hard hittng than the last one but also has some really poppy stuff i love. I also forgot to split it into tracks and then couldn't be arsed!

The mix itself is still uploading but i'll do the trackist meanwhile
The tracklist is thus

1. Introduction - Glass Candy
2. Hustler - Simian Mobile Disco
3. Confusion (Dirty South Electrofied Remix) - New Order
4.- Pogo (Digitalism's Robotic Remix) - Digitalism
5. Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Soulwax Kyluss Remix) - Kylie Minogue
6.  Seventeen (Soulwax Remix) - Ladytron
7. Heartbeat (Alan Braxe Remix) - Annie
8. Bright Neon Payphone - Cut Copy
9. Let's Make Out (Extended Mix) - Does it Offend You, Yeah?
10. W.A.Y.U.H. - The Rapture
11. Round & Round - Sugababes
12. Coke & Cream - TEPR
13. Robot Rock - Daft Punk
14 Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics
15. Dare - Gorillaz
16. True Faith - New Order
17. Ready For The Floor - Hot Chip
18. Leave Them All Behind - Whitey
19. Us Vs Them (Go Home Productions Remix) - LCD Soundsystem
20. D.A.N.C.E. (Rehearsal Version) - Justice

Anyway, thank you for the mix! I will probably split it up on my own when I get the chance, and if I remember this thread I will upload for everyone.

Only one or two things I'd put that I haven't seen here yet-

Dizzee Rascal. Most of his stuff is very danceable and very awesome. There's even a Dizzee Rascal+Ratatat mashup that's pretty good too.

Also, I think that at least one Michael Jackson song is a must.
