EDIT: valley_parade , I don't know if you know this (or if there are tickets available) but Against Me! are opening for the Pogues Friday & Saturday this weekend at the House of Blues in Boston.  THAT sounds like a pretty good show.

I'm heading back to Western Mass (where sadly, I live) on Wednesday. Otherwise, I'd be all over that.

That's a really cool venue, though. I saw Dropkick Murphys there tonight.

Fuck! To complicate things, now Sian Alice Group is playing with Mountains on the same night as those other two shows. Just wait, by the time I finally decide, they'll all be sold out.

And that tour with Ted Leo and Future of the Left? I'm still kicking myself over not going. I think I missed them AND Earth in the same week.

I just found out that Titus Andronicus is opening for Ted Leo in New Haven in June.

My only friend who would be interested will be out of town that week.

I now have to find new people to take me down there.

Also: April 10th definitely going to see Acid Mothers Temple.

edit: Holy fuck! I had no idea Ghost were touring! May 4th yesyesyesyesyes

Personally, I would go see the Gaslight Anthem, although I saw a live video of them once and the guy seemed kinda douchebag-y.  They sounded great, but he seemed like the kind of guy I'd get sick of after watching for more than 30 minutes.

I'm trying to decide wether it would be worth it to fly over to the other side of the country to see the Flaming Lips in July.

I'm sure it'll be a hell of a show but flying ain't cheap.

BJM Tuesday and hopefully MBV next month. We bought the tickets, but my manager's been stingy with giving people days off and I'm taking Tuesday off and I'm wondering if she'll care if I ask for another one off in a month.

Yeah, I really want to see Bonnie 'Prince' Billy in May. Tickets are only $16, Quite worth it, methinks. How are his shows? Quiet? Rocking? Totally unexpected hour long experimental noise freakouts?

I guess they mean the really generic kind of bbq i.e. stuff cooked on a grill outside. So...vegan stuff?

I'm not really sure what vegans would eat that could be grilled.  I mean certain vegetables are pretty good when grilled but what else.

One of you internet people has to be a vegan, right?  Please enlighten me.

Man, you can grill all sorts of vegan products. Various vegan burgers, lentil burgers, tempeh, seitan, and tofu can all be made into grillable shapes and flavored in vegan ways. There's a big industry here. I'm not a vegan but I can say with confidence that there's enough options for me to be happy even if a bbq is 100% vegan.

May 9th The Thermals at the Bowery. I am excited.

I am going to this, also the show the night before.

Also I saw the Hold Steady in Albany last night.  We were directly in front of the keyboard player the whole time, and he has a ridiculous mustache. Also they are a ridiculously good live band, especially in a small bar with only  maybe a couple hundred other people there.

I think I saw them opening for Dropkick Murphys in '07. Ended their set with some sort of strange Clash/Beatles medley that was wicked awesome. I would have danced if the fucking bastards at Boston University weren't so strict with their floor set-up. Christ, we're not gonna mess up your precious ice by dancing and moshing.
