I like using the trainer mostly because of Ivysaur,  he has be perfect mix of speed and power,  I love any attack that make him explode out of the flower on his back, thats just fun.  Also his neutral special is good for racking up some damage.  I also love using the vine recovery.
Squirtle is also fun just because of how quick it is, I can do decent with him.
Charizard is my least favorite only because he is a heavy character and I cant do well with them.  Still he is okay.

Sonic
I dont use him because he isnt a Nintendo character that shouldnt be in the game in the first place.  I think I am still the only one who thinks that.

Zero Suit Samus
Probably my favorite new character so far,  seriously, I just love the whipping and the quickness and everything.  I will usually try to stay as her through an entire match even if that means after getting a smash ball that I need to find a place to turn back into her without people attacking me.  It has gotten to the point where my friends will try to not let me transform to Zero Suit after I get a smash ball they all gang up on me and follow me around.  Everyone really hates it but me.

I still really want to unlock Toon Link,  young Link was one of my favorite characters last game so Im hoping he will me similar.

I forgot to mention Pokemon Trainer.  He's interesting and probably the most versatile character in the game, but has no decent down attack between the 3 of them.  There's absolutely no air game which is where I excel.

I also think it's funny you have issues with Sonic but not with Snake.  Yeah sure, Snake started on the NES, but he hasn't been seen on a Nintendo Platform since before there really WERE any other choices.

I haven't seen Zero Suit Samus yet.  I doubt I will any time soon because I don't have any friends in my current pool who are Samus people.  The Samus guy in our group sort of had a falling out with me because I realized he's an abosolutely terrible friend.  (Seriously, I moved into my own place about a month ago now and the fucker hasn't even returned a phone call.)  If they have a way for Samus to start a fight as Zero-Suit, I doubt I have much playing time with her.

How could you have liked Little Link, just as a question?  He was terrible.  If you took adult Link and nerfed all his attacks and range, then you had Young Link.  Toon Link is actually a viable alternative as he's got a much better recovery than regular Link and enough of his moves are varied (like his awesome up smash) to adult Link that it feels like a different character rather than a complete carbon copy.

And most Sonic games after Sega left hardware have been made primarily for Nintendo systems.

Also: Zero Suit Samus' trick is on the Dojo, apparently hold shield until the stage selection screen then quickly press up-down-up.

Curious about the use of the Konami code for Snake, though...

HarperLufro:
I really like Lucario. I'm not completely sure why though.
I just do well when I'm using Lucario. There's the whole power increases as
damage percent increases that is really useful.
My biggest problem with him is that his down+b move, double team, is too slow.

This might be me pulling a Captain Obvious, but did anyone else notice how a lot of up+b recovery
moves can curve now? That wasn't included before was it? Or am i just the one idiot who missed it?

Thy Dungeonman:
Curve? You mean, like, you can change their direction? A lot of them have been like that since Melee.

Does anyone else randomly slip and fall during matches? That seems to happen to me occasionally.

So, the general consensus is this game is great, but is it good enough to warrent the $500 AuD that buying a Wii and the games entails? (obviously I will buy other games for it when I have the money, but that might take awhile so there would be a long perioud where Smash would be my only game.)
