It seems like they're going for more of a Peach's Turnips type deal with the Pikmin, but I might be reading the description wrong.

actually it says that without pikman, he can't even do a smash attack. So I'm think that every attack he uses involves pikman and the amount of pikman he has determines how effective the attack is.

I dunno if I'd agree with that unless you really like Snake's ass or something. I like the picture below it much better, mostly because I could tell what the hell was going on.

If Pikmin is, as you so eruditely put it, "fruity", that would make about 95% of Nintendo's games "fruity".

The worst part is that there are people who would agree with that statement. I posit that these people don't play video games for fun as much as they play them for cathartic relief from the confusion that they feel from all the strange changes their bodies have been going through.

(What I am trying to imply here is that nobody over the age of 15 should accuse Nintendo games of being 'kiddy' or 'gay' unless they're stupendously moronic)

yeah it was a little harsh :) I think we're entitled to our oppionions though. I should have said instead "I didn't really care for the game personally". That would have been more decent.

anyways.... back to smash bros brawl.

I'm surprised they didn't add in Yoda or Vader, since they seem to be up for grabs for games they don't fit in whatsoever.

Well, Sheik is back in but I think that was sort of expected. What I find interesting is that he has his own Final Smash, which could be interesting in what it does differently from Zelda's.

Also, after spending the last half hour listening to all of the music samples again I just want to reiterate that this game has an absolutely stunning soundtrack. Not only does it have incredible nostalgic value but all of the arrangements are absolutely impeccably composed. It's hardly surprising given the amount of musical talent that Sakurai roped in, but I love it to death anyway.

Shiek is still Princess Zelda.  You are using the wrong pronoun.

Also I agree with the Music.  It should be awesome.

Tomato tomahto. In Ocarina while she is in the 'Sheik' persona she is referred to as a he, because that's the persona of the disguise.

Actually, to the best of my recollection, Sheik is not referred to in the third person at all.

The only times Sheik shows up is when Link is alone. Nobody else ever refers to her. The only third person references are after she's revealed to be Zelda, when Ganondorf kidnaps her toward the end.

Are you sure? I haven't played Ocarina in years, but I could have sworn I saw Sheik referred to as a 'he'. Maybe that was online somewhere in a manner intended to obscure spoilers. In any case, this is all irrelevant.

Well I'm accustomed to bishi boys in games, but not Nintendo games, and it never occurred to me to even doubt Sheik was a chick.

If she had been in a Final Fantasy game, I can see your point.

I always saw Sheik as a girl as well, then again I guessed right off the bat that it was Zelda in disguise.  To be honest I am excited that she is back, I was worried that since they are using the Twlight Princess model she would not have returned

Famitsu gave SSBB a perfect score, the 7th game to actually get such a score.

In Ocarina she did have a fairly mannish shout when she threw down the flash thing vanish.

One thing I don't think I mentioned when it was shown was Wario's original costume. Awesome.

When I played Ocarina, I definitely thought she was a man until her true identity was revealed.
The lack of any third-person references confuses me though; did she actually ever introduce herself in Ocarina?  How do we know that her name is Sheik?
