Snow Patrol - "Run"

Call me a pansy but I seriously love these guys, and especially this song. Nothing says awesome like Gary Lightbody's voice.

Another band to make it out of The Relatively Small Smoke.

Ah yeah, Vintersorgs in Borknagar. Which Garm and ICS Vortex have both also been in. Bloody confusing Norwegians.

I have similar difficulties with Sigur Ros. Sometimes I'm in the mood for 'em and sometimes I'm just like "Guys why don't you go do something."

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Sigur Ros is awesome, for the most part.

Voltaire - "When You're Evil" and "Goodnight Demon Slayer" (Evil ended whilst I was posting, so.....)

While there's children to make sad
While there's candy to be had
while there's pockets left to pick
While there's grannies left to trip down the stairs
I'll be there, I'll be waiting 'round the corner
It's a game. I'm glad I'm in it
'Cause there's one born every minute

And you’re sure you’d be the worst he’s ever had
If he eats you, don’t you fret, just cut him open with an axe
Don’t regret it, he deserved it, he’s a cad

Tell the harpies that land on your bed post
That at the count of five you’ll roast them alive
Tell the devil it's time you gave him his due
He should go back to hell, he should shake in his shoes
Cause the mightiest, scariest, creature is you

June of 44 - Anisette

I still can't decide whether Tropics And Meridians or Four Great Points is the best June of 44 album. Either way, this band is awesome and Doug Scharin is a freaking drummer god. Seriously, even if you are not into math a lot but play drums, give this band a listen.

Angra - Carolina IV: Prog metal in the power vein, which I generally avoid. I haven't heard a song off of any other album by these guys that I can stand, but this album seems pretty cool, and this song is great.

Just got back from the thrift store and found a compilation of Hal David & Burt Bacharach songs performed by Aussie indie artists. Its a perfect find- stuff like The Avalanches doing 'Do You Know The Way to San Jose' and The Dirty Three doing 'What the World Needs Now (Is Love)'.

I love finds like this

Eurythmics-I saved the world today

i know o_O

anyway i promised myself that i would listen to this CD because i got it for christmas  (Eurythmics Ultimate Collection) but i also got The Who's ultimate collection and Pink Floyd's UC. This sat at the bottom of my pile of CD's on my desk. Now i am kinda sad i waited this long. This is actually some good stuff but i dont think alot of it is making "Main" on my iPod...

There are some nice sounds though, the start of this song sounds kind of like the Theme for James Bond: The World is Not Enough

Hey hey i saved the world todaaayy.

Damn that gunna be stuck in my head now

Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark - Call from the Grave

I don't get the production for this album and when Allmusic says that the sound quality is much better on this one than before I... well I wonder exactly how bad it was on their first couple of albums. The music is pretty bitching though.

Bad, but that doesn't matter. BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING BATHORRRRYYYY.

It is kind of amusing that what Bathory and Venom did owing to a lack of money, equipment and expertise, modern BM bands do as a matter of style long after cheap, affordable digital recording equipment could have allowed them not to. It still sounds bitching though.

Kai, I can TOTALLY do Jack Black's part on that song. Or, at least, I could, but it's been so long since I sang it. I need to listen to it again too.

I'm listening to Harvey Danger - Little Round Mirrors

Awesome song that turns CD's into little round mirrors with a hole in the middle... it's all very metaphorical.

Hmm, the Smiths yeah I was listening to The Queen is Dead for a bit this weekend.

Beruit - Gulag Orkestar
This album is just so fun. Balkin style gypsy music backing a singer that could easily be crooning in Vegas.

While the album gets a little repetitive it is still well worth a couple of listens.
There is some better stuff in his new live performances.. here is a link to some mp3's from one.

Interestingly the guy from Neutral Milk Hotel is playing accordian on his tour and did the production on the album.
