Joseph:
Nuisance, thank you tons for that small list.  I may have to use it next time I raid my local record shop.  Anything else you can recommend would be excellent.

I would almost go as far as to call them "bluesy hard rock".

AlexAttack:
I'm gonna go with pop punk.
Favourites include Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Jawbreaker, MTX, The Lillingtons and Teenage Bottlerocket.
Its all just so damn catchy and fun.

Also Black Metal.
Satyricon (bar the last few records), Mayhem, Absu, Bathory, Aborym,Emperor, Enslaved, Darkthrone and Burzum (the music, not the man behind it).
Early Cradle is not too shabby either.
So many different shades. Sometimes dark and eerie, sometimes raw and brutal.

Man, I was an obsessive collector at the time, but I ditched a lot of it over time.  There's not huge amounts of other stuff that I can think of to suggest - maybe some early DJ Krush, or the first two '110 Below' compilations - and unfortunately all of this was probably small runs and would definitely be out-of-print now.   Not trying to be wilfully obscure.  I had a little search on GEMM and the results were a bit distressing... $150 for the 'Headz' comp??  Dumb.

Johnny C:
I'm gonna need to think about this one, guys. Leanin' towards "pop/rock" right now.
