A trim it is!  Which is probably what I was gonna do anyways but it was worth it just to check.

and Boro, thank you for the complement, but I'm too poor to buy bread.  Sad, but true.

Haircuts! Before:

After:

that second one looks like it's longer on one side than the other, but that is because some was pushed behind my shoulder. I got a colour and cut, and was taught how to blow dry my hair so it doesn't frizz so much.

Apparently you but some curl definer-y goopstuff in it, and using a hair dryer with a diffuser dry scrunched up handfuls on a low setting so that it is slightly damp then let it dry the rest by itself. It still went a bit frizzy and boofy (as you an see at the back of my head), but not as much! I will have to see if I can do it tomorrow after I wash it.

I put some anti-frizz stuff in mine and just leave it. Sometimes I scrunch it a bit, but mostly it just kind of does its own thing. I mean, since it is sentient and also terrifying, I don't really want to piss it off or it might turn its viciousness on its host, you know?

So, I'm thinking I really need a hair cut, but I don't know what I should go for. Any advice? (I'm the one on the right, with the beer)

Not a great photo, but it's the best I have and I don't have a camera, sorry.

Also, beard or no?

I would say beard, though it's a little hard to imagine you without one. Maybe thin it out like your twin's.

As much as I love my (completely unrelated) twin, I definitely need to do something with my hair, even if it's just a trim.

For reference, this is what I look like sans beard and with less hair. I'm almost tempted to be that drastic, but not quite.

I think I'll get it cut a little longer than it was when that second photo was taken, and then work out what to do with the beard.

I've been threatening for a while to shave the "beard" bit off and just leave some massive cheek-engulfing mutton chops for a week or so. Maybe I'll do that and then shave properly.

I would say to get your hair cut like that again and just trim up the beard a bit to see how the combination looks. And if it's not that good, just shave it all off!

Also I like your shirt in the second picture.

I think the haircut in the second picture would look pretty good with some sensible (i.e; not too wide but still down to the jawline) sideburns.

Well, I certainly wouldn't say I regretted making those posts.

Thanks for the advice (oh, and the ego-stroking too, that was nice). I was planning to go and get a haircut today, but that never happened, sadly. It occurs to me that I have no idea where to get a good haircut in London, though, as I've only been to one place in the city, and I don't particularly plan to revisit it. It will be an adventure finding somewhere good that isn't hideously expensive.

So as Winter is theoretically coming around again this year I thought I might get dreadlocks again seeing as how they are not hideously expensive (my girlfriend is a hairdresser) and they come out fairly easy (they will in fact be synth. dreads). I really liked having the dreads when I did, and most people seemed to like the look of them.

They probably won't be as long as the ones I had when this pic was taken but they'll still be about shoulder length, and probably in black and blue instead of red.

I'm going to go with a no, but I usually hate dreads so disregard that.

Hows abouts a picture of you sans dreads, to compare?

Kylos, I just imagine it darker, redder and being just short of reaching your shoulder. Maybe a fringe. I can't decide from that one picture.

Agreed on the darker and the redder. Maybe some layers and brighter red highlights? Fringe probably for yes, or basically just shorten and shape the hair covering your left eye now.

See the thing is I've only had bangs for about a year now, I spent a lonnng time without them and got bored. I like my bangs a lot, but some days my hair is just way too curly for them and I end up looking cutesy.

Dear Manda,

While my hair is not nearly as curly as yours, I have pretty wavy hair with bangs. One thing I've learned is that they can be trained! If you blowdry, you can semi-straighten them with your fingers so that they're still kind of curly, but not one big fat sausage curl. You can do this if you air dry too though- after a couple days of tugging on them the same way, they'll start to lay the way you want. I guess I think you look a little cuter with the bangs, but it's probably impossible to make you look even remotely uggo.
