Good oh. The only problem with the longer hair is the worrying feeling that I look like a member of a recently re-united boy band.

Thats probably because that pic was taken a good 2 years ago in Hong Kong whereas the other was taken at New Year.

Oh Bollocks! Did I not include that on the originals! Damn. Its been a good long time since i had hair anywhere near that short and wanted to demonstrate it.

Have also been told by a male friend that I should lose the hair and grow a beard with it... not too sure about that myself

I saw no on the beard, you have a lovely clean-shaven face. It wouldn't go well with the boyishly handsome look you've currently got going.

Argh.
I dyed my hair just last night, but thing is....a few months ago I dyed it dark brown, close to my natural hair color, because I was tired of dealing with roots. But I got bored with it recently and tried to go auburn-y....it didn't work out, because about two-three inches of roots were undyed hair, which takes color a brighter than dyed hair...so my roots are bright red, and the rest of my hair (midway to my back) is a warmish-brown.

If I just get some brown dye and do my whole head, will that make the roots less noticeable? I don't need a perfect fix (a little red tint to the roots is fine) but I'd like it to be less noticeable, but I'm not sure if it'll work out.

This is what I get for not letting my normal hair person do it.

Jens, I spent years trying to get my hair to look like that, in the end I gave up and started growing it out to my shoulders. I'd say it's the perfect 'style' for you. Show that shot to the person who cuts your hair, and say "this is what looks good, improve on it" or something. A subtle haircut can make a huge difference.

Oh why hello there hair advice thread, how are you today? Lovely? Wonderful!

Anyway, I have some hair. I don't know what to do with it.

My hair has more or less looked like that for 2 years probably. I am bored of it. But I don't know what to do with it. I am thinking about cutting it a bunch shorter but I am also kind of scared of cutting it short in fear of it being terrible.

What do i dooooooooooo?

Objects: I think it would be hells of cute/awesome if you left the front the length it is, maybe a leeeetle shorter, but trimmed the back up a lot. Almost like a reverse mullet, but much sexier. That way yous till have some length, but it's shorter/neater in back.

sorry to come up asking for advice again, but I was wondering, what do people think of this sort of hair, when its all slicked back and stuff?

Please try to ignore the face paint and the kubrick stare, was all dressed up for halloween, but I kind of liked the hair all slicked back, I was wondering what others thought.

So hair thread I have been thinking

My hair has gotten kind of long, and some days it looks nice, but other days it looks dumb and poofy. Some days it gets kinda Mudhoney. I am unsure of what to do with it.

Thoughts?

I have already asked Meebo, and I probably won't for a while but..

regular hair

Do you think hair around this length would suit me or what? People have been suggesting I go short but I am unsure, but it could be fun(I have a really wild mane and it is so thick and so hot in the summer)

And/or keep my length and go redhead?

PS De_El, I like it in the first picture, but not the second. Honestly I think you'd look handsome with a short messy style.

PPS What brand is that hoodie I think I have the same one c:

Andy, your hair is so amazing long, and although i think it would be a shame to cut it off, it doesn't hurt to experiment. Basically I'm saying you should do whatever you like, so I'm not really much help at all. Shorter hair would show off your shoulders, neck, and jawline better, but you can do more with longer hair. Weigh up the pros and cons, because I kinda regret cutting all my hair off, even though it looked awesome when it was super short.

Yelley, with a haircut like that, I believe you would have been totally justified to respond with a good ol' fashioned "Well, your face looks weird."

Seriously though, it's a cute cut, and I think it is more interesting than your old one due to the added visual texture. My sister also has really straight hair and I always thought she looked better when she cut it short like that too.

Andyyyyyyyy. I love your hair long. BUT considering I went from below shoulder length hair to very short hair this past summer, I don't really think I can tell you not to go for it. I think you could pull off short hair just as well as long hair, but what you have to think about is how long you'll be able to stand it short. Growing it out from short to chin length is rather annoying (for me anyways) and takes patience, especially if you want to go back to that length. I love your hair long, but I am of the personal belief that most girls are far too attached to their hair, so if you want a huge, drastic change, go for it! Otherwise, maybe just do it gradually.

May, I think you should cut your hair to shoulder length and get some layers and possibly some fringe if you want.

I'm posting here with still pretty short hair. I usually just get it faded up to very short (aka, the marine cut) because it looks nice and is easily maintanable, but I think I can look good if I grow it to a medium length again. Then I don't get asked if I am going into the service.
Do people like the idea of a mussy spiked look? I have a cowlick on both the left and right front, and the left and right back of my head, so sometimes gel doesn't work that well and my hair just flips to the side.

Also, Andy and May, I think maybe you should try going with 2 or 3 cuts, start with say shoulder length, and if you want it shorter, cut it again, and if shorter still, cut it YET AGAIN. It takes a lot less time to make hair shorter than it does to make it longer, so if you cut it too short, you may regret it.

Andy, people get weaves to get hair that looks like yours. Of course you can pull off short hair; you're absolutely gorgeous either way, but I'm still a fan of the long

BUT if you are going to chop it, I have suggestions. (Click for big)

The top one and the last two are my favorite. They're pretty much the same haircut, just styled differently.

And for May! I think a side part first, then layers will add volume and shape and look really pretty.

I've never really considered having a fringe before but you've set me to thinking. Never in my entire life have I had an actual hairstyle, I think now might be the time to start.

I used to have a side parting, actually, but it somehow drifted back to being a center parting again. How do I stop this from happening? Other than, you know, actually spending any time on my hair at all ever.

mine used to center part naturally and it hated side parting. now it side parts naturally and hates center parting.

not sure if this is really what fixed it, but i would part my hair on the side when wet and pull it back into a ponytail and let it dry that way. eventually maybe the tension made my hair like to be parted that way again?

I switched to a side part this fall, and it's still acting up at times, and moves closer and closer to a middle part :p After each shower, it will fall naturally into a middle part, but if I just comb it over to the side, it stays there, which it didn't before. So I guess it's slowly changing, just by being fixed in 20 seconds after a shower? After being in a middle part for 20 years, I guess it will take a while.

I used to have a middle part and now it's a side part. It will try to go back to middle for a while, but if you comb it when it's wet and sometimes blow dry it with a brush to make sure it parts where you want it to, eventually your part will stick. You just have to train it, pretty much.

Yeah, I switched to a side part a couple years ago when I started getting bangs. I still have to re-do my part each time in the shower, but if you just do a quick comb while the conditioner is in it takes all of like 5 seconds per shower.
