Alex, have I told you lately that I love you?!
No, but you
have been eyeing my SG rather lustily. Maybe that counts. D:
Also, I have no idea why people still give a damn about In Flames. They were never really even that good to begin with. Most of the darker power metal bands are more musically interesting and instrumentally heavier, anyway, which reminds me that Gothernberg's melodic "death metal" may as well be called "extreme power metal". Where the hell is the actual death metal?
And guys if you want to listen to an actual death metal band that has a lot of melodic content, just listen to Amon Amarth.
You are on the slippery slope towards comparing Trivium to Judas Priest
People already compare Trivium to thrash-era Metallica.
Actually on the subject of Trivium it would be interesting if they, for once, wrote a song of their own. I mean, technically they have three albums worth of original songs but they kind of sound like they're, for instance, The Four Horsemen Pt. 2 or A Less Progressive Take On Metallica In General and Let's Steal A Megadeth Song For Good Measure. They can clearly play their instruments and that's a step in the right direction for mainstream music.
Okay, upon further thinking even shitty metalcore is probably a step in the right direction, but what I'm really saying here is that I
have no idea why the majority of the new thrash movement want to rape their influences so hard someone hold me please
