DC Universe Online
Nodaisho:
Lucasarts was somewhat to blame for the NGE fiasco, from what I have heard. Isn't bioware making a new Star Wars MMO? Hopefully they have enough Star Wars experience under their belt to convince lucasarts not to touch anything.
DCUO doesn't really interest me, while I like a couple of the comics that are technically in the franchise (Sandman, Hellblazer), I am not big into DC.

They made the first Knights of the Old Republic, then handed the second one off to someone else. Regardless, I think one Star Wars action-RPG-thing is plenty experience to work on an MMO.
I hope so, anyway.
0bsessions:
Bioware is producing it, I believe, but it's being developed by a group of former Ultima Online developers whose resume includes the original build of Star Wars Galaxies (Which, as mentioned, was fantastic). Add in the fact that the KotoR era is much better suited for an MMO with Jedi running around than the original trilogy era and I'm very optimistic about this one.
Sylens21:
Agreed, especially on the KotOR factor. Honestly, a Star Wars MMO without Jedis seems pointless, though I never played Galaxies, so I just may be wrong on this one.
0bsessions:
Actually, it was a blast UNTIL they caved and added Jedis in larger numbers. Initially, they never told people how to unlock Jedi (It turned out they had set it up to be different for everyone and eventually started dropping hints to highly developed characters). This led to an incredibly slow trickle of Jedi in the game, meaning you had very few out there. Then fans started bitching and the devs bent over and gave them Jedi and broke the entire game when they did it. In an effort to unbreak it, they took all the fun out of it.
If these devs can properly nerf Jedi, it could work out fine.
